I wish I had known about these when I was a kid and was head over heels into egyptian hieroglyphs. These strong but delicate chisels allow you to hand carve relief and fine details into soft stones like limestone. Absolutely life changing. I’m ordering a second set. The blades on these chisels hold their edge sharp and true as you shave away layers of stone or carefully use the corners to etch fine lines into the stone. While i do not believe these are designed to be used with a hammer, these are beautiful and quality tools for hand carving, and will be near and dear to my heart like my pencils are. This has opened up a whole new world of creative options. I’m simply ecstatic. Best $22 I’ve spent on new art supplies in 10 years. These will be a staple in my home art supplies from now on.

A great addition to my stone carving tools. I can use these for fine detailing and get into places that are difficult to carve. The leather around the tools tends to slip if you use them by pushing rather than striking but its not a big deal

Good Quality. Not for hard stone, blades chip on granite and balsalt stone. Fine for soap stone.

I bought these for a buddy who was looking for chisels for his stone carving business. Over the course of about six months, he wore them out (he did a lot of work!), and asked me to order more. We looked at other sets and he rejected them: He wanted this set again. I've now ordered him three sets, and he's built a business on them.

Fantastic set of tools, used them on occasion

Upon opening one of the chisels was broken. Upon inspection the reason why is obvious. Very cheap and the tips have been soldered (not welded) poorly at best to the shaft. These are not single pieces of metal as they should be. I used one of the other chisels and it also broke immediately. Waste of time and I suppose I should have known considering the low cost. Lesson learned.

The steel is strong, but the leather fell off the handle pretty much immediately. It worked amazing for what I was using it for, which was plaster. It was straightforward to use and felt pretty good in my hand. If it didn't fall apart, I would have liked it better.

They performed great . Used on soapstone and they cut awesome.
