My daughter and I have trouble finding piano books that appeal to her and that her piano teacher will allow. This one, along with ones by The Muse, the Beatles, and Queen have been ok. The piano teacher says the lyrics are un-Christian and the book is a little too easy, but my daughter enjoys using it to play songs. The Laughing Gnome is in it too if you like Davy Jones' greatest song of all.

This one is a no-brainer. My flatmate had this book 15 years ago and I was always impressed by how many songs were in this and what a great selection it was. And it's not just the hits. Don't bother looking at the other Bowie music books - they only have 13 or 20 songs. This one has 41. It's a beauty to actually play a Bowie song on your instrument, to actually feel just how intuitive and graceful is song-writing really is - these songs are a real pleasure to play and to appreciate the brilliant construction - and downright freakish chords he pulled out..

I love that the fingering for every chord is displayed right above it in the music. This feature is very helpful and saves a lot of time when you don't know a chord. Although a few of the pages fell off as soon as i received it and it had completely fallen apart within a few days, i just put all the pages in a binder, but I bought a used one, i was expecting a little damage, but nothing that sever.

I have had a great time playing through this book. While some of my more musically talented friends have noted a few wrong notes and not quite exact guitar chords, overall the book is accurate with a good balance of complexity and playability. It also is a great selection of pieces from Bowie, truly encompassing his career both in well known hits and some lesser no stuff that's still really good. If you're a Bowie fan with a decent ability at guitar, piano, or voice it is a great value, and a lot of fun.

I'm discovering it is impossible to get the exact guitar chords for David Bowie. The internet doesn't have them anywhere so I was really hoping the sheet music would at least be right. Oh well, can't blame 'em. David Bowie seems to be a tough one to decipher.

The front and back cover of the book show signs of wear .the inner pages do not . For us guitar players we are used to having the chords somewhat close and then have a little figuring out to do on our own so.... . the melodies are close as well it gets you close enough to figure out the rest by ear . I'm not a piano player so, someone like that would have to rate that . I just wanted something to get me close and it does that . So, for what it's worth . I was a little disappointed that I was charged for the retail price on the book when you can clearly see it is not new .

Dieses Anthologie genannte Notenbuch enthält auf 216 Seiten 41 Lieder aus den Jahren 1967-1984. Sowie einige Fotos. Ob, es die jeweiligen Lieblingssongs sind, sollte man vorher auf der Rückseite des Covers nachschauen. Abgedruckt werden jeweils der Text, die Gesangsmelodie, Akkordgrafiken für Gitarre, und eine Klavierbegleitung in Notenform. Die vorgeschlagenen Gitarrenakkorde sind meist Offene Grund-Akkorde. Nur in Space Oddity greift man etwas in die Jazzkiste. Wer die Klavierbegleitung nachspielen will, sollte schon einige Zeit Klavier nach Noten gelernt haben. Einzelne Stücke haben 3 oder 4 #, der Rest kommt aber meist mit bis zu 2 Vorzeichen aus.
