Lovely down to earth writing. Advice coming from a lifetime of experience and a loving heart. Not a religious book but one that has a godly foundation. Sending to all my kids to read.

Sister Joan is the be all end all to all things spiritual, Catholic, and holy. I gave this as a gift.

There was a lot of information for you to improve your life. I am older, so I have heard all these things before this book. She did a good job of writing things done and good examples.

Joan describes exactly how I have felt since I turned 40. A relentless uneasy feeling about what I am doing with my life and the constant empty gut feeling of a missing core element of my life. I thought there was something wrong with my thinking, but now I realize this feeling must be within many more people than me.This is a very well written and easy to understand book.Very profound and will provoke you to ponder the ideas within.I have read this book several times because I did not want to miss any of her points that she tries to convey.

The book was inspiritional, enjoyable, easy to follow. It was long enough to get the point across and short enough to remember much of what is important. Before I purchased it I only expected to find more ways to get where I want to go. Like "Maxine" I wont ever be over the hill, because I am to darned tired to climb it. Have fun reading and relating.

By far one of the most amazing and well written books on embracing and working to understand one's life journey! Joan Chittister conveys through her exceptional command of the English language her absolute grasp of what one needs to ponder as they figure out where in life they are going! Highest recommendatioin!!! Fantastic book for graduation from high school or college, or a great wedding gift, or a treasure to present to a cherished friend! Don't hesitate....just buy it...you will be so glad you did!

In great condition for a used book. Some minimal pencil markings on a few pages. I like to underline passages in books these days, so the pencil markings don't bother me in the least!! And an excellent book to read as well!

Very thought-provoking and supportive without "cookie cutter" advice. Makes me want to share it with others!! I was able to understand more about myself and others.

There's so much to take in, consider and reflect upon as Joan Chittister unravels the meaning, need, and the very purpose of having purpose. It's not a book you read once and forget about. I have no doubt that I'll be returning to it time and time again.'

Could read this book if you are in your fifties, and asking "what is my purpose " or "why am here"
