Toy sized
The ceramic manual canister works fine, however, we were surprised at how small it is. It is difficult to hold down while grinding the coffee beans. We are keeping it for use during any unexpected power outages, as we've bought an electric one for every day use.

The Third Time's . . . a Disaster.
It looks spectacular and I got two great, hands-on, I-did-it-myself batches of coffee. The third time, I heard a cracking sound and noticed the crank had a lot of play in it. Yep - the metal grinding section had cracked free of of the ceramic lid - and sent good sized ceramic shards into my super posh Muth Rosten Haus coffee. Well, that wasn't a great way to start the day. I didn't do anything different or turn the crank in a brutal, coffee-deprived rage. Nope. The thing just cracked into pieces during the course of normal, cautious, and diligent effort. Too bad - I was having a nice time with it.I can't say I hate this item. The two times it worked, it completely made my day. So, two stars because it broke the third time out. Now, excuse me while I shop for something not as great to look at, but less likely to add a painful edge to my morning cup.

๐ This grinder is poorly put together. Only used it a few times and it is coming apart.

CoffeeWerks Manual Canister Ceramic Burr Grinder review
There is nothing like freshly ground coffee beans for that morning, noon, and afternoon cappuccino or cup of Joe to wake you up or just stimulate the senses with the aroma of fresh grounds. I think I have become a true coffee drinking coinsure as I have spent a great deal of time and effort searching for the perfect roasted bean to grind. I have had several coffee grinders over the years and have found that part of enjoying coffee is grinding beans by hand for each cup as freshly cracked beans makes that eye opening beverage that much more pleasurable. So, I did a little research and found CoffeeWerks manual canister ceramic Burr coffee grinder. I ordered one and quickly put it use once it arrived. The grinder can grind coffee to any coarseness desired which I set my grinder to fine so I can make grounds for cappuccinos. I also liked that it was small enough to hold in one hand while I grind the beans and that the grinder doesnโt take up much space โ sits right next to my French coffee press and cappuccino machine. My old grinder was just too bulky and hard to use. I also like that the grinder has a seal in the base that helps keep the grounds fresh until I make that next cup โ writing this makes me want to get another cappuccino. My next order is for Christmas as I plan to give the grinders out to a few other coffee lovers and one for me to take camping. I highly recommend buying a few for yourself and friends. You wonโt be disappointed!!!Cheers.Ron

Not A Great Design.
I like the way the grinder looks, but it is somewhat poorly designed. While the coarseness of the grind is easy to adjust, the shaft that connects the crank to the grinder is only constrained at one end. This leaves the rotor portion of the grinder to move significantly within the stator portion of the grinder. This makes the coarseness of the grind considerably variable. I actually took the grinder mechanism apart and installed a bracked to hold the other end of the rod (near the rotor) so that it minimizes eccentric motion of the rotor while allowing free rotation. It works much better this way, but i wouldn't expect most people to make this sort of modification.I would recommend against this grinder for a design that holds the rotor and stator of the grinder to a concentric state.

Problematic
The first arrived with a missing part, so I returned it. The second arrived with all its parts, but the arm will not stay attached during grinding despite the screw being securely tightened (and re-tightened). Ultimately, I was able to grind about 1/2 cup of coffee beans, but the arm detached several times during the process. Not worth the frustration to deal with some sort of design flaw. Returned the 2nd unit, will not order again. Really too bad because it's an attractive piece.

Works great!
Love the grinder! Works great in our french press and the K-Cup adapter (add your own ground coffee).
