ThorntonsOriginal Special Toffee (300g)

Like so many other reviewers have stated, the taste of the candy is divine! However, the texture isn't as creamy as I remember. If anything, it tasted a little stale. Most of the pieces were clumped together and I had to dump everything in a plastic box with a lid and give it a few good whacks on the counter to break the pieces apart. A plastic bag and a hammer might work too. In fact, I remember the first time I bought a box in the UK (years ago), it came with a small hammer.I will say, the shipping was really quick and the box arrived way before the expected date.Update, when I opened the second box, the contents were in a single layer of clumped. I put the whole thing in a zip lock bag, closed it with very little air inside. Laid it on a tea towel on the counter and took a metal ice cream scoop and gave a couple of good "whacks" and sure enough, the pieces broke apart.Originally I gave it a 4 star but am upping to 5 because I wouldn't keep the candy in the paper box it came in, it's not an airtight container.

The first time I had a Thorntons Toffee I was bored at the airport waiting to leave the UK. I grabbed a small bag of caramels to kill time, but five minutes later they were all gone so I went back bought three large boxes of which two made their way home. Unfortunately they are not easy to find where I live so I forgot about them. A few weeks ago I was looking for something else on Amazon and this little box showed up in my search. I was thrilled. The toffees have come and gone and now I am ordering a second box. The price is high for a small box of candy, but if you are a fan of toffees and caramels in general Thorntons are worth it.

Thornton's Original, which is the Cadillac of English toffee, is an excellent buy from Amazon and a delightful, delicious, and de-lovely gift for anyone -- especially oneself! For those who expect English toffee to be like the US-version, you will be disappointed. This sublime toffee is different in that it is very hard when you first eat it but then becomes pliant and juicy from the heat of your mouth, releasing the yummy caramel-like flavor and texture. Oh boy, I think I need another piece right now!

Good product....BUT dealing with seller was a COMPLETE nightmare

Thorntons is the best toffee! It is so creamy and delicious. The box has gotten smaller since the last time I had it but the toffee itself is just as good as I remembered

I enjoy Thornton's toffee but I'll never buy it from Amazon again. I paid 18 bucks for 2 300g boxes, but as luck would have it, I visited London and found a Thornton store where I bought 2 big boxes of the toffee for far less than what I paid on Amazon. RIP off. I'll be contacting the store directly. Manager was happy to create a business relationship with me.

This is seriously the best toffee ever. I remember being excited when my best friends dad would leave for England cause he would always bring. This toffee back with him. I've never been able to find it until now. Thank you amazon!

The best! It does take a while to get to you so order a few months in advance. I've tried to make it at home but it isn't as good as Thornton's
