I wanted it to keep an entire room cool but it didn't really do that. Instead I placed it on my nightstand to keep me cool while I slept and that worked well. You also have the option to not use the color lighting which I preferred. I put the filter in the freezer and ice cubes in the water up top. It blew cold air but not a full air conditioner effect. So if you have the option to get a real air conditioner I would say go with that but if you need something for a dorm room or personal use at your desk I think it would be fine. It does make a slight fan noise (kind of reminds me of a laptop fan) but overall it's not bad.

This evaporative cooler is a mediocre fan/humidifier at best - I do like the idea of this to help with cooling off when there are no other resources available. That said, I bought this for use in my teenage daughter‘s car since it doesn’t have a working AC and the car will be sold off in about a year, which is why it’s useless to fix the AC. It didn’t do the job unfortunately- not even an iota of a degree temp difference. It did provide her a bit of humidity in her dry room which she likes and is the reason why decided to give it an average review. I should also add it didn’t spill in the car which was my initial concern.

We live in a condo building with no a/c build in. So, with the west side windows when the sun is here the most of the day it is getting pretty hot and stuffy. My thought was to get something for the baby room which needs to be locked after baby goes to bed and no option really to air it out, meanwhile something quiet and with the air purifuying feature.This air conditioner just exceeded my expectations. Additionally to it's less then a whisper noise level, it works great, gradually cooling the air, meanwhile not making it too too freezing cold . You can adjust the intensity of the flow, the humidity on/off, you can play with the color of the light or turn it off at all (which I don't do preffering to use it as a night light for the baby), you can move it anywhere you want.And when I think that it purifies the air that's the moment when the soul and mind get together and gives this satisfaction feeling.

When I read the review I thought I was getting the best, but this one is extremely noisy. The multiple buttons I have to push [3 levels with mist and 3 levels without mist] are frustrating. The water container is easy to access and fill, but empties to quickly, even on the lowest speed. I do not want to mess with returning it, but I say try something else!

I bought this to use in our shop, which gets very warm. It's basically a personal fan and isn't enough to 'cool' a larger area. I like that I can add ice cubes to the water tank, that seems to make the air flow feel cooler than a regular fan. It's small and can be easily moved from space to space. it's powered by USB but I plugged it into a power block such as you use to charge your cell phone. that way as I move it from area to area I can use a regular outlet for charging. I didn't see in the instructions that this was possible and I'm not recommending you do that......but since I am right there whenever it's running I feel comfortable doing it.

I have tried using ice with the water to see if it cooled the air more but the difference is subtle. I like that I can keep it next to my bed to keep me cool throughout the night. It isn't going to make the air COLD, just cooler. And the fan works great too. And the changing lights is a nice addition. You can choose 1 color or changing colors and it is a soft light, which I liked as well. And finally, I connected it with my computer through the USB port and it worked perfectly, it takes little energy to power it and it is compact enough to travel. A good buy overall.

WOW. We live in a two story townhome with an in-wall ac that only cools half of the upstairs. It stays cool downstairs but wanted something for the extra hot humid MN summer days. I can't afford a $400 portable ac so I thought I'd give this a try. It's so powerful and cooling for a little device! I froze the filter like suggested and it is blowing nice cool air. Will be buying a mini ice cube trays so I can put ice on the water tray too. It will not cool an entire room but is amazing for close proximity usage.

I bought this cooler because I live in Florida and spend most of my time in a "Florida room" that stays warmer than the rest of the house. And this cooler does the job. It is perfect for one person and keeps me much cooler.However, just make sure you follow the instructions to get the best results. Get the filter wet and then freeze it. Put ice and water in the water tray. If you do all of that, the air will be cold and you will be happy. If you don't do those steps, then this will just feel like a fan.
