These poles have held up well and the compact size is totally worth it
I've owned these now for over a year and after at least 25+ hiking treks I am so glad I bought them! Here's why: They strike a great balance between weight, stiffness, and portability. Are they the lightest poles out there? Heck, no. A carbon fiber pole will weigh less. But they are light enough that I don't feel any fatigue from carrying them. Are they the stiffest poles out there? Heck, no. A non-collapsible pole, or even a telescoping pole, will have less "give." But they have been more than stiff enough for my needs (and I've done a lot of rocky climbing with them, including down the North Rim and back). Are they the most collapsible poles out there? Definitely! And this matters a lot to me. I have a set of telescoping carbon fiber poles that are very nice to use, but even fully collapsed, I can't stuff them in a backback. I can't pack them in a carry-on bag. So I'm limited in terms of where I can take those poles. These Trek-Z poles solve that problem. So I might use my other poles when I'm driving to a trail head near my house. But for all other occasions, the Trek-Z poles are the winner.

Light & affordable
These are terrific if you don't need anything fancy and are traveling. I wanted something to easily fit in a small suitcase & that I wouldn't be out a ton of money if the airline lost my bag. (They did for 2 days). As with all new gear; practice setting up/taking down & test out well before your trip to do something else if they don't work out. They aren't as substantial as the C**tco ones nor my L*ki poles, but held up on steep trails in Hawaii when I needed some balance and support. If you can set up a pop up sun canopy, they are easy to put together ( they have a metal push button). That said, they are light, 3 pieces, and rely on that locking button, so if doing difficult trails, you may need more substantial, pricier ones.

That it should be more noticeable that it is not for seniors.
It’s a good product, but not for seniors which I didn’t know. It was too hard for me to put together.

Light weight and fits into a backpack.
These things worked great in a city environment. I walked around NY city for several days and they enabled me to walk much faster than using a cane. One of the best things about them is they fit into a small backpack. Check the dimensions.Unfortunately someone stole mine but I am buying another one.

Good quality poles, carbon tip broke after 2years of use.
Good quality poles. Lightweight and sturdy. It took me a while to figure out to adjust to me height and make sure that it clicks. I am 5' 4" but I buy the taller one so that when it folds, it will be the shortest length without having to adjust the length. I bought this first in 2023 and used it continuously on my hikes. Last week the carbon tip broke and looks like the poles will have to be replaced. I would still buy the same pair.

Smart design
The poles at first seemed difficult to assemble but with minimal practice it’s a snap — and the wisdom of the design is obvious. (Check YouTube for an excellent short assembly video.) The poles are very high quality, especially at that price!

Great purchase
Great poles. Lots of compliments from folks including the physical therapist who recommended trekking poles. Had the PT put them together and measure to correct height- easy Peary.
