Review: Stylish & classic watch - even for a woman - I love it. I’m a fairly petite woman with small wrists and I love how classic looking it is, as well as the size - it looks almost oversized and “too” masculine for me, but it’s not. It’s big enough to be flattering on my small wrist but not so big that it overpowers it. The colors are great (neutral!) and best of all, it doesn’t buzz every time I get a message or a call. I have an Apple Watch and now long to be just a little more disconnected. The price was definitely right too. 10/10. Review: Wear outdoors then swap out the band for a night out - I've had this watch for more than 5 years now and I have nothing but good things to say about it. I got it as a weekend/outdoors counterpart to my Timex Easy Readers that I wore to the office for more than a decade (one for brown belts, one for black belts). During Covid and WFH, it's even more literally my daily wearer. My Weekender has for years stood up to everything I've thrown at it, worked perfectly, and gotten me several compliments. It's easy to read and has a subtle elegance. At 38mm--not too big, but not small either--the size is perfect to serve you in the outdoors and also augment a subtle style or aesthetic on a night out. I don't like to swim, much less dive. So all I look for in a watch, in terms of WR, is whether it can survive me getting caught in a summer shower, get dishwater splashed on it, or, worst case scenario, a quick splash in the pool or ocean. I haven't swam in this watch, but I've certainly done the first 2 on those list with it. The case held up just fine, no fogging or worse, and wearing a fabric strap means it won't get funky--and you can just throw it in the wash anyway. Despite not swimming in it, I do "sport" in this watch otherwise--jogging, mountain biking, softball, etc. In all those situations, the watch was fine. No signs of slowing down, no cracks or scratches. The indiglo backlight flickers, but I have hardly used that since I was a teenager anyway. The quartz movement means you'll never have to set the watch like a manual needs daily, and like an automatic or solar may require. I've never replaced the battery on my Weekender or had to reset the time because it was off. After a day of sporting, you can toss the sweaty strap in the laundry and pick out a new one based on your outfit, all in a couple seconds. My Weekender was my introduction to NATO and other single-pass fabric straps, and they're now my go-to daily watch set-up. I've never replaced the battery and haven't noticed any lost or gained time. I should mention that I don't really adhere to the mentality that you need to measure how accurate a watch is over a year or more to judge its merits. This watch doesn't have a date window, which would mean several more resets per year, but between traveling between time zones and DST, I have to reset the Weekender several times a year anyway. I wouldn't wear this watch with a dressy outfit, but for everything up to that point, it looks appropriate. I don't like flashy watches or to walk into a room and have my timepiece be the first thing people notice, so this is perfect for me. You should never pick out a watch based on what you think watch snobs will think/say, but if you're worried about it looking 'cheap,' I've only gotten compliments about the Weekender. Like many affordable product lines, there is a surprising fandom out there for this watch. At this price point, I don't think anyone would regret buying it, and its versatility means it may become that go-to watch for when none of the rest make sense. And if it's your only watch--good choice.

Perfect Watch!
This Timex was delivered recently (8/28/2023) and I’m already here to share some thoughts: After stumbling upon an article online about this Weekender watch, it was Love At First Sight: Unpretentious. Classic. Iconic. Unobtrusive. Non-Fussy. Versatile. Also, it fits my extraordinarily skinny wrists (6 inch/15.4 centimeters circumference) with even a few holes to spare. The 38mm case diameter is the perfect size to showcase on them bony wrists. (If you have “normal” to “meatier” wrists, I’d go for a larger diameter, say, maybe a 40mm+. This 38mm may look too “small” on your wrist, otherwise.) The NATO band is quite comfortable, especially since I like to wear my watches pretty snug. Who else LOVES their watches traveling up and down their arms?? Not I, said the Richie. The color of green is accurate: military fatigue or avocado. Plenty of other bands to switch out for variety, which I’ll probably do down the road. Very comfortable right out of the box, too. The face is an off-white or cream-color, which gives it added aesthetic. Also, like me, if you find that you have too much band length that goes past the clasps, you can either: 1) double it back over and re-insert into the clasp; or, 2) snip off the excess and use either a lighter or—even better—apply a heat gun to the ends, to help prevent it from fraying. Chef’s choice. This is definitely a casual to business casual watch. With the choice of band colors and materials to choose from, it really is quite versatile. Another trick I learned: if you don’t intend to wear it for awhile, pull out the crown (the little dial on the side) to preserve battery life. I don't plan on wearing it in the shower or swimming, doing dishes, nothing. Not taking any chances. Oh yeah...Loud Ticking? Non-Issue, here. I don’t even notice it. I hope this helps with your buying decision. Cons Pros -It doesn’t send you text messages -It doesn’t give you your heart rate -It doesn’t sync with your apps or smartphone -No choice of wallpaper. -IT TELLS TIME. THAT’S IT. And does it simply, cleanly, and beautifully. (and that Indiglo tho' !)

A nice first "dress-up" watch. (UPDATE, with pic)
I would argue that this would be a nice, inexpensive watch to get for your first "dress-up" function--like a concert, let's say--and you're not gonna be around people who are seriously expecting you to wear expensive hardware. There's something wrong with those people anyway. I have found a couple faults (which I'll get into in a bit), but if you can live with those, this is a watch that just looks good with a suit. I bought this watch mostly for the face, which is just classic, tasteful design, and the fact that you can change out the strap fairly easily (it's interchangeable for a standard 20mm NATO strap). It has sort of a railroad watch look to it, very utilitarian and purposeful. It came in at just under $30 for me, hopefully a little less for you. If you do a search for "Timex Weekender" you'll see there are lots of other color variants in the watch body to play with as well; one has a gray face with white numerals, one is white with black numerals, some have red second-hands, some have blue ones. Some are polished chrome, others are buffed chrome, and one or two are an anthracite color. The one you're looking at here is polished chrome with a black face, white numerals, chrome hour and minute hands, and a red second-hand. All of the ones I've seen so far come with Indiglo, Timex's patented electroluminescent backlighting system that's been around since I was a kid. It lights up the whole face, leaving the numerals and hands in negative relief so you can read 'em in the dark. My biggest complaint so far--and it's a pretty minor thing--is the chrome minute and hour hands. They do catch the light sometimes, but more often than not they seem to "disappear" against the black watch face, and I find myself having to move my wrist around to tell the time. (UPDATE 2/14/16: see attached pic.) I suppose I could nudge the crown and activate the Indiglo if it was a big deal, but I have other watches that don't seem to have this problem. I have a feeling the variants of this watch that have black hands are more legible. I can see why they did the chrome hands, because the case is shiny and chrome-plated as well. But I'm not gonna lie, if the hands were white, it would make the watch look a good bit more expensive. Just sayin'. The other drawback is basically a Timex thing. This watch ticks very loudly. I've said this in a review of my other Timex watch: "You can hear it inside a moving vehicle with the radio on. If you wear this as a daily watch, you'll get used to it. It's the people around you (significant other, co-workers) who won't. Do not leave this watch on when you go to bed. Just... trust me." What I mean by that is, if there is any decent amount of ambient noise, that should drown it out, but if you're in a somewhat quiet place, you (and anyone else within whispering distance) WILL hear it. The strap that comes with this watch is sort of a rough-textured ballistic nylon, which looks fairly tough and should wear well, but it's a little scratchy against the wrist at first. After about a month of wear it is fraying a bit at the end, but I think that looks good. It's also a little bit long, so if you have small wrists there may be a bit hanging off the end. That's ok... the "NATO look" prescribes that you wear the remainder of your strap tucked into the metal clasps. I have big enough wrists that this isn't a problem. Again, if you get tired of it or need to change out for a different color, there's a whole world of NATO straps available to play with. So, here's the deal: this is a genuine timepiece which isn't pretending to be anything else. You could drop thirty bucks on something cheap and blingy that's trying to ape a more expensive watch with complications that don't even work. But if you want something with a timeless, classic, functional design, something that will go REALLY well with that new black suit you "had to buy for that thing", this watch should be in your cart.

GREAT WATCH!!!
I will start this review by saying that I have not worn a watch in about 12 years. I usually just check my phone for the time. I bought this watch because I was attending an Expo for work, and had customers going. I did not want to be rude and have my phone out constantly to check the time, so I figured a watch would be better. I had the watch overnighted to ensure that I had it in time to adjust to wearing it before the expo. and after wearing it a few hours, I already forgot that I even had one on. it is very comfortable to wear. I do have the issue of being in between holes on the watch band when wearing it, so it is slightly too loose. below is a breakdown of what I like and don't like about this watch. LIKE: I do like the look of the watch. The olive green strap is comfortable, and goes with most of the outfits I wear. The watch face is very appealing too, and there is a backlight for viewing the watch at night. It isn't too heavy of a watch either. As I stated above, I forgot that I even had the watch on! DON"T: so there are a few things that I don't like about the watch. The first thing is how loud the ticking is. When you are wearing it, you really don't notice it, but at night, when the watch is across the room even, you can hear it clearly. It isn't loud enough to keep me awake, but it is audible. This watch also keeps time very well! I synced it up with my phone best I could, and am within less than a second! I do have a gripe about the seconds hand though. *see DON"T*** Second thing I don't like, is that the nylon band started to fray in less than a week. I contacted Timex to see if they would send a replacement, and they said no, but I could buy a replacement for $12-16. So they were useless. I ended up just burning the edge that was fraying, and heating a paperclip to seal the inside of the holes on the band that were. It seems to be holding up fine that way. Last thing I don't like, is the seconds hand. The seconds hand is spot on, for the first 30 seconds. Once it has to go up the watch face when looking at it, the hand looks to be behind by half a second. It isn't really off, and doesn't seem to affect the accuracy. I think that this is just due to the weight of the hand having to go up rather than down... The things that I don't like are very minute. I have no regrets about buying this watch! It is a very nice watch for the price! I am currently considering buying a leather band for it as well to mix things up. Hope that this review was helpful!

Love This Casual Watch! Great Value.
After my expensive Fossil watch died about a year ago, I've been struggling with cheap garbage watches ever since, not willing or able to get another expensive one. The last one I had literally fell apart on me, so I decided it was time (literally) to look at better quality ones. I have owned a Timex watch before and it last for years, so it was the first brand I looked into, since Timex seems to be a great combination of reasonable prices and quality watches. I found this olive green weekender on their website. For the record, this watch is UNISEX, not Men's, as Amazon states in the title. The color and style of the watch band grabbed me, mellow, casual, it really looked nice on the website. I also liked the large dial, my last cheapo had a tiny face that made me feel prematurely old when I struggled to read the time. The price seemed more than reasonable, and then I found it on Amazon for even less. So I ordered it. I was expecting to pay at least $50 for a good watch, so I was excited and hopeful. I received the watch today and I have to say I am just thrilled with it. I had a read a review saying that the band was "paper thin" and "flimsy". I'm not sure what kind of paper they write on, but the band is almost 3mm thick, which is plenty. I wouldn't want it any thicker, it bends around the wrist nicely this way, and it is after all, tightly woven NYLON, so it's hardly flimsy. Having said that, I do agree with a different reviewer who said they wished the band holes had grommets. I would like that detail too, as well as a reinforced end of the band, but the fact is, the watch would cost more with those features, so I think I'll live without them. The face is wonderful, I love the large size. Nice and easy to read with distinctive black hands and a bright red second hand, so you can see the time at a very quick glance. The overall face of the watch is pretty large though, so if you're looking for something small in size, this wouldn't be it. A couple descriptions I've read state the face color as white. It's not white, but more of a cream color. Fine with me, but thought I'd mention it. The Indiglo feature is pretty handy too, I haven't had the good ol' Timex Indiglo feature in a long time. Some people have mentioned wishing the watch band was longer. I love it just the way it is, but admittedly, I have somewhat small wrists, so I appreciate the lack of a hanging band. There are ten adjustment holes, my wrist only goes to the 4th hole, so I would think it would be reasonable for most men or women, but if you're particularly large boned, maybe it would be on the small side, it's hard for me to say for sure. Another feature is the 24 hour clock markings. Not something I needed, but it adds more detail to the face and is something new for me to learn. Oh, and there's TWO loops on the watch band to slide the overlapping band under, which I really like! I hate hanging bands, which happens a lot on my smaller wrist. Overall, I'd rate this watch a 10 out of 10, I just love it. I saw a review that said it's good for casual wear or dressy occasions. Everyone is entitled to their opinions of course, but I just want to say that I don't feel this is at all dressy. To me, it's a VERY casual style, which I think is why they named it the Weekender.

Durable and Versatile Watch with Great Value
The Timex Unisex T2N647 Weekender is an exceptional watch that combines durability with style. Here’s my detailed experience: Pros: Interchangeable Band: One of the standout features is the interchangeable band. It’s easy to switch out the nylon strap for different colors or materials, making it versatile for various occasions. Indiglo Feature: The Indiglo night-light is incredibly useful. It provides excellent visibility in low-light conditions, which is great for nighttime use. Large Face: The large 38mm face is easy to read and adds a modern touch to the classic design. It’s clear and straightforward, which I appreciate. Durable Construction: The watch is very durable. It has withstood daily wear and tear without any issues, maintaining its good looks and functionality. High Cost to Value: For the price, the Timex Weekender offers excellent value. It provides reliable performance and stylish design at an affordable cost. Cons: Water Resistance: While it handles splashes and brief immersion in water, it’s not suitable for swimming or bathing. This is something to keep in mind if you need a watch for water activities. Overall Experience: The Timex Weekender has been a reliable companion. It’s stylish, functional, and offers great value for the price. The ability to change bands makes it versatile for different outfits and occasions. Comparison: Compared to other watches in its price range, the Timex Weekender stands out for its durability and the practical Indiglo feature. It’s a solid choice for anyone looking for a dependable, stylish, and affordable watch. Tips: Interchange Bands: Explore different band options to customize the look of your watch. Nylon, leather, and metal bands can all provide different styles. Battery Life: Keep an eye on the battery life, especially if you use the Indiglo feature frequently. Final Recommendation: If you’re looking for a durable, versatile, and stylish watch with a high cost-to-value ratio, the Timex Unisex T2N647 Weekender is an excellent choice. Highly recommended!

Love it but,
They should have used stainless steel instead of shiny polished brass. And the strap/band looks and feels very flimsy and cheap. However the color combo and face of the timex weekender is timeless and a very nice watch to wear casually. Just wish it was a little bit better quality considering the price. I understand this a budget friendly watch, but they didn’t have to cheap out so much. I hope the face and housing last a long time. I’m considering buying a new strap/band, I love the look of the original but it’s just too cheaply made. I want a more premium feel and look with it.
