BG Electrical Single Wall Light Switch, 2 Way, Square Edge, Nexus 900 Series, White Moulded, 20A, 16AX, 912

This is a BG branded double 2 way light switch and comes with 2 faceplate screws, 2 small plastic screw hole blanking covers (these are attached to the back of the faceplate and just pull off for use) and a printed instruction leaflet that reminds to isolate the mains before replacing the switch and also the necessary wiring connections to install the switch.At the time of ordering this light switch from Amazon it was at a price that was less than a 1/3 of the price in my local DIY shop and using Amazon meant it was delivered to my door without any travelling on my part.When fitting the switch I recommend trimming off the old exposed copper conductor from the cable as if you are replacing an old light switch, that copper will have been heavily compressed for many years and will no doubt have become weakened. Then carefully trim 1.5cm maximum of the insulation off each of the cables and twist the copper strands to make a long single wire on each cable. Then fold the exposed copper wire on each cable back so it doubles itself up, which will give the securing screws on the switch more copper to hold onto. Then tighten the screws securing each cable sufficiently to hold the cables securely in place. DO NOT overtighten the screws as this can break some of the copper strands and possibly cause the cables to fall out of the connectors over time. Then finally double check the connections you have made and that the cables are secure, affix the faceplate, turn the electric supply back on and test.The switch feels quite stiff to operate initially, but this soon loosens up after a few weeks of use.I had no issues with the fitting or the quality of this product so can highly recommend it to anyone after a basic light switch at a great price.
