Really helped our transition!
This book helped me as much as my nearly two year old. We started reading it a couple of weeks before starting night weaning. When she we would wake up and fuss, I found myself repeating lines of the book to her... And myself! Simple, lovely poem---it is what I would have said if I was not so sleep deprived! ;) night weaning is a big step for extended breastfeeding and this is a great tool.

Not for Everyone
I'm glad to see that so many people found this book helpful. I applaud the book for tackling the subject of night weaning, but I had a few problems with this book. It looks as though the girl in the book sleeps in a formal dress and she looks really old. Reading the note in the front I learned that the author's own child was almost four when she was ready to night wean her. This was hard for me to take, considering my patience with nursing my 15 month old all night long was wearing extremely thin. Though the text is sweet, it is also a bit clunky, for example, "In the morning/ It's milkies for you/ They'll still be there / Yes, it's true". I much preferred "Sally Weans From Night Nursing" because it talks about feelings of sadness and anger and explains how when Sally was a baby she could only eat breast milk but now she is older and eats food so she does not need to nurse all night anymore. "Milkies In The Morning" seems to just repeat the message that night weaning is hard and I will be there for you all night. Then in the morning you can have "milkies".

Great Night weaning book
This book has really helped in night weaning my 18 month old. When she wakes we use the words to remind her and it's helped so much!

Four Stars
Helped us but I don't like the illustrations. They seemed cheep and computery.

Very sweet book
My two year old asks to read this several times a day. We haven't actually started weaning yet, but in the meantime it is a very sweet book, planting seeds for the change that is to come.

Not my favorite night weaning book
Milkies in the Morning is a pleasant book and a short read that we have generally enjoyed.Pros- The rhyming rhythm is nice.- My child likes it and requests it every night.- Characters are people of color as we like to read books where people look all different ways.Cons- The physical printing of the book is poor. The pictures are highly pixelated and don't translate well to the page.- A few of the lines we have to skip over including "You can't spend the whole night glued to mama's breast." and a line about crying. Our child didn't cry over night weaning and this book kind of gave them the idea that they should be sad about the whole deal.Personally, I prefer the printing quality and messaging of Nursies When the Sun Shines.

lovely night weaning tool
This book has lovely illustrations and very sweet prose. My two year old daughter seems to relate to it. We're still working on night weaning her, but I know this will help because the potty training books we read really helped her with the potty training adjustment.
