Some of the material is dated since it was originally published in the 80's, but to read the thoughts of some of the great cinematographers of our time is an education in itself.

Really wonderful conversation for any cinematographer

Beautiful book for people who are transfixed on the visual aspects of movies. If you are an aspiring cinematographer, I strongly recommend it this one even though they are working with stock film, it is still a great way to get into a pro's head. Another book that I like even more than this is Alemendro's A man with a Camera. A rare a book but well worth it.

It was a birthday present for my husband and the description said a signed copy...when I opened the copy it was signed by a cinematographer--it made the book even more special. Too bad the person he signed it to didn't have my husband's name.

Masters of light allows the reader incite into not only the cinematographers methodology but also their personality which becomes the most engaging part of the book. Get it if you have interest in this field.

I learn something valuable about cinematography and my favorite films every time I go back and read it. Highly recommended.

great book! the book has some scracthes but it's fine. For now, It's a very enjoyable book, gives you lot to think about. Very nice!
