Heavy and clumsy
I'm new to kayaking, and have used rentals (included paddles) several times before buying my own. I agonized over which kayak to buy and was happy in the end, but I didn't think there was much difference in paddles. Boy, was I wrong.I had an opportunity to use this paddle twice, on calm rivers: on a short leisurely trip of 30 minutes, and on a more intense 9 mile trip of several hours. On these trips, I was aware of the heft of this paddle (228cm and >54oz.), and I thought the foam grips would be a help in being able to control it, and for comfort. Instead, it interfered with my grip, and made my hands tired faster. They are not placed well: one was an inch or 2 closer to its blade than the other, and neither was in the correct place on the paddle where I normally grip, so that my hands were partially on the foam and partially on the shaft. Also I think the diameter of the shaft of this paddle is a little larger than standard. Definitely bigger than everyone else's that I was with. I'm 5'3 and have small slender hands, so I think this paddle is only good for people with larger and stronger hands. The weight was another issue. Not only were my arms and shoulders aching more than usual from the extra exertion (9 mile trip), I had some kind of pinched nerve that made it feel like my arms were on fire for the rest of the day. This never happened before with the longer, lighter, rental paddles, not even on all-day trips. I'm planning to buy another paddle for $80 that is <40 oz, because quite frankly, it's worth it.By the way, I'm sure of the weight: it is not 2 lbs, or 3 lbs, but 3.4 lbs. I measured it whole and in parts on an accurate kitchen scale that has a range up to 11 lbs. It's heavy.I'm probably not going to use this again. I would only recommend it to a person with a lot of upper body strength and large, strong hands, OR if you are on a budget and only plan to take occasional, short, leisurely trips (<1 hour). With paddles, you get what you pay for. I really did like the bright yellow color, though.

Haven't had any issues works great.
I've used this paddle 6 times and it goes together fast and feels sturdy. For the money I think most weekend warriors like my self would be happy with there purchase.I ride a Trophy 126 10' fishing Kayak.

Good for occasional outing
A bit heavy, but will do the job. Good for occasional outing!

kayak paddle
The paddle was all I expected it to be. For the money, it's an excellent buy. I realize not everyone would want a paddle this heavy, but I'm not willing to pay over $200 for a paddle.

Nope....it is well made but too heavy compared to other similar paddles
As stated. Too heavy for prolonged use

89" (225 cm) Two Piece Kayak Paddle- Yellow
Well built. Light. High visibility yellow paddles. Easily marred. Seems fragile, but rather durable. Produces flutter. Overall, a good choice.

Kayak paddle- too heavy!
This paddle is too heavy and the clip doesn't work very well between the two paddles to keep them together.

KAYAK PADDLE
VERY PLEASED WITH HOW WELL THIS PADDLE PERFORMED OVER THE CHEAP DUAL PURPOSE PADDLES I BOUGHT ORIGINALLY. ...BUT I AM A NOVICE HERE....
