Q: How hard is it to replace the fan?

I just had a fan failure and Cyberpower told me that they do not sell the fan. They suggested that I replace the entire UPS. I found the fan on EBay for about $9.00. It took about 20 minutes to replace and the unit works just fine. However, if you search on the internet for "quieting cyberpower noisy fan" you will be taken to a blog that explains how to change out the fan for one that is almost silent. I bought the parts on Amazon for about $19.00 and it took me about an hour to do the upgrade. It is very quiet.

Q: Is the software required or can I operate everything from the hardware?

No, the software is not required. All the settings can be accessed using the display and buttons on the front panel. You can also operate it remotely if you wish, by installing a network interface card (such as CyberPower RMCARD302). It plugs in the back and connects to your intranet and/or the internet so you can control the unit from a pc in another room (or another city!) - you log into your unit via a web browser like chrome or firefox, and it presents you with a full-featured control panel. This also DOES NOT require you to install any software (the network interface card is pre-programmed with the required functionality). In any case, their "Power Panel" software is for large business/industrial operations with many CyberPower units - way overkill for individual users.

Q: where is it manufactured?

Not sure where they are manufactured... pretty hard to find out online.. May have to call them up for that. They are based in Minnesota though.

Q: On the ol2200rtxl2u, is the twist lock outlet a l5-20r or a l5-30r? the product image shows a l5-30r but the product description says l5-20r.

It's a 20; they've incorrectly used the picture from the OL3000. You'll notice the fuse also incorrectly shows 30A.
