Order this for 150hp out board. Easy install. No issues with fit. Not sure it would fit a 225. Probably up to 200hp , my opinion. No soft material inside, hopefully won’t scratch the motor. Only time will tell. Haven’t had an issue with it blowing off.

Super thin material - also doesn’t fit around the top of my Mercury 150 XR6 despite ordering the 150-225hp option. Would have returned but it tore slightly trying to get it over motor. Doubt it’ll last one winter. Disappointing purchase.

I have 2014 BassTracker boat with a 60 hp 4 stroke outboard. I wanted a cover to protect from sun when stored in my open ends RV shed. Cover was easy to install & a little large for this size of motor ( which is ok for my intended use). It has an inside foil liner that should protect from UV rays. I’ve had wheel covers with same material that is used on motor cover external. I suspect it will discolor (fade) with time. I’ve had for less than a month so I’ve experienced no fading issues at this time. I remove before traveling so cannot speak to its ability to withstand highway speed & wind. Because of oversize, it would not surprise me if it didn’t hold up however for my I intended use it works well and is very cost effective.
