Beautifully Illustrated Allegory
My aunt kept talking about this story and I remembered getting this book from my mother when I was younger but couldn't find it anywhere so I ordered it. I love the story of Much-Afraid. So many beautiful truths woven in this beautifully-illustrated allegory.Things that I loved:1. The illustrations. Seriously, the illustrations are gorgeous and helped bring the story to life.2. The devotions at the end of each section. I liked reading the break-down of each section and was thrilled with the Scripture references and guided prayers. I know this version of the book is for children, but it's helpful even as an adult.3. The lessons throughout. Lessons like learning to be "Acceptance-with-Joy" and "Bearing-with-Love" are vital lessons that everyone should learn. Like most lessons, they aren't easy to learn and this book helped teach them in an easy-to-understand way.4. The story. It's no secret that I absolutely love allegories. I've listened/ read Pilgrim's Progress more times than I can count in several different versions. I was pleased to find one with a girl as the heroine, especially a girl named Much-Afraid, a character that I can totally relate to.Things I didn't like:1. The prayer sections often ended with a "Bye for Now" which I thought sounded a bit disrespectful. I know this book was trying to be kid friendly, but it just came off as strange when a simple "Amen" would have served just as well. I'm probably nitpicking but that was honestly, the only thing I could think of that I didn't like. Again, personal preference here.

We LOVED Much Afraid
I was not in love with the artistry of this book but I absolutely love the content and my children enjoyed it as well. This is a great book for any family who is trying to lay strong foundational principles for their children in any season. My 4 children range from three years old to nine years old and they all walked away with great practical insight into their own behavior and mindset. By the end of the book I understood the purpose behind the artistry and had much appreciation for the illustrators ability to capture the intent of the book and characters.

Very Nice
This is one of my favorite books and I have been wanting this illustrated version for awhile (even though I don't have children). Very nice artwork and no complaints about the way it was translated for children. Still chokes me up every time I read it. I think I will have to buy another copy for my nieces! Highly recommend!

Amazingly adapted for children!
Love this book; both the original and the children's version. My 10 year old daughter and I started reading this a few weeks ago because she was struggling with fear and anxiety. It has been a great tool in helping her understand how to overcome fear with God's help.

Perfect kid's devotion!
We've used this as an evening devotion with our four kids (9 down to 4). It's led to some really great discussion about trusting God, fighting our fears, not getting discouraged when life is hard....it's been wonderful!
