American Made and Powerful
I purchased this Dutton-Lainson, StrongArm electric winch from Amazon Resale at a great price. It arrived in an Amazon box with all items that would have come in the Manufacturers packaging. Its condition is excellent. It is compact yet powerful enough to pull my disabled project cars on and off of my lift with its 50 ft cable. The motor smoked a little when I first used it. The operator’s manual said that this is normal for a new winch. It has a much longer running time VS cooling time than the other electric winches I had looked at.It has a clutch to Free Wheel the cable out. This saves a lot of time. Its 10 ft wired remote makes it much easier to operate. It came with a pulley block to be able to double up the cable to increase its pulling capacity but it was not needed for my application.I would highly recommend this winch.

Excellent winch
The media could not be loaded. This winch is far better than any of the other 110v models on the market. It is somewhat slow but it gets the job done and easy install. Please note that I bought the hitch adapter directly from the manufacturer website.

I'm happy to get this much needed winch
Wire rope is a little short. No problem..It's just long enough to hitch to my plane to drag it up the slope into my hangar.

One tough cookie
I'm using it to winch my 17' Lund up onto a shorefront roller rack (similar to a boat trailer without wheels, but longer). Does it with ease, no need to double up on the cable. Honda 2000 watt generator handles power requirements easily. I should be able to use this when I'm 90. Note: In a marine application such as this, don't forget to use a GFCI connector.

Used For Boat Hoist
We used this on our boat hoist. Have used it multiple times now and seems strong. Will continue to monitor it as time goes on but hopefully not bad. I did not seem smoke the first few times it was used and still haven't, but we did smell some burning grease which is to be expected. Couldn't say if i would buy again as I am not sure the longevity but we will see.

Works
These people should be ashamed of themselves. The two star is because it operates. Not impressive engineering, NoCompany Support!!! They are kind of it is what it is !!! Then the mountings plate is 65.00 and they are 10-12 weeks out on shipping. I’m laughing at myself for getting involved in a no solution problem. You can doBetter I’m sure. I made my own mountings plate piece of metal a good drill and bit and. 15 minutes 2.85 for cut to size plate Me about a hour I’m 71 years old 1/4 hr is at least 3/4

Great Pulling Capacity, Well-Built Product
I bought this to pull my race car into an enclosed trailer which has a close fit. I mounted this winch in the front of the trailer and connect the power cord to a small generator. It has plenty of power to spare and pulls the car up the trailer ramp and into the trailer with no problems. The hand-held controller makes it easy to stop and start the winch as I adjust the steering wheel to get the car in straight.I was going to get a lower pulling power winch (read lower cost), but many of them had poor reviews when it came to how much weight they could lift or pull. To save $100 to $200, it was not worth wimping out on pulling power.
