Is the Juice worth the Squeeze? This is a very good introduction to Juicing!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I have wanted to try juicing for a while, i previously had a Nutri-bullet that i burnt the motor out on some time ago. I recently picked up the Sirt Food Diet Book so to get started i needed a Juicer. After reading a lot of reviews and undecided about taking the plunge on an all singing all dancing expensive juicer i thought this would was a good choice based on reviews, size and price point. The Good* The Juicer comes in a small cardboard box which was reassuring as i was expecting it to require a new kitchen unit all of its own. Once unpacked its super simple to set up and assemble. There are a few parts that just slip and click together, a couple of juice and wash cycles and youll be fine without looking for the instructions wondering why it looks upside down!* I was really pleasantly surprised at the built size of the unit, its not a hulking monster, its fairly compact compared to my expectations. I don't need a new cupboard, its a little like two kettles taped together is the best size analogy i could give!* Build quality seems to be robust, the plastic feels durable, the stainless steel housing is a nice touch and gives it a classic finish on the work top.* Operation is super simple, there is a chute atop the unit, you place the chosen fruit or vegetable in, insert a plastic pusher on top and flick the switch. I found that whole apples needed to be chopped up a little, i wouldnt put a whole apple in in any case.* There are two speed/power settings, you can see both in action on the video i posted. The instructions advise to only juice for a maximum of a minute at a time so as to save burning out the motor, to be honest if you are loading into the chute then having to reload you will be switching the motor on and off in any case. Its really very easy to use.* Its a centrifugal juicer so the fruit/veg goes into a spinning instrument, is sieved, the waste goes one way the juice in the other direction, out of a spout and into the collection glass below.* I have found the following all juice very easily so far, celery, cucumber, apples, ginger. No issues. Leaves and roughage are a little different but that's the case for all juicers i have read, there just isn't much juice to be had from rocket and spinach, no surprise! It handles Kale with no issues of clogging, you just shouldn't expect much juice from leaves.* I find switching between the power settings quickly stops any clogging issues, it simply chews up anything in the chute, if you have ten inch fingers i would watch out but otherwise you should be fine, its very safe to operate.* I follow the Sirt Juice ingredients pretty closely when doing those, apparently i should be getting 250ml of juice per portion of assorted fruit and veg, its generally more like 210ml, which is fairly close.* There are some rubber suckers on the underneath of the unit which are a help in keeping the unit in one place, it does get a little excited with itself when filled with fruit.* Crucially the juice the unit produces juice that tastes good, it tastes very good, the texture is smooth, bits are not included. Very nice. The Could Be Better* Its a compact juicer so having a compact sized unit and a large collection glass wouldn't work, however the 400ml glass is still small and when you have to distill it midway through a juice you end up with juice dripping out as you pour into another glass from the juice chute.* The product listing states three speeds, i only have two, i dont believe i would need three, but still, it does state that.* At times the juice literally flies out of the chute depending on what you have put into it, this you can see on the video. Again this causes a mess on the worktop and beyond.* Cleaning. Cleaning a juicer is much like cleaning up after a solid meal. Its rubbish. Theres no way of getting out of it. I believe this can go through the dishwasher for most of the parts but if your using twice a day and not making big batches then a dishwasher cycle isnt practical twice, three times a day.Cleaning the plastic aspects is easy enough, cleaning the sieve element is an absolute pain. The unit does come with a brush but any standard kitchen brush will do.The waste goes literally right the way through the unit and sticks to all parts so it all needs a thorough clean. The waste bucket at the rear unclips very easily and as others have said i would advise putting a freezer or similar sized bag into the bin each time you use as this does make the clean up easier as then a lot of the waste can just be put straight into the bin.I did mention the quantities produced versus expected earlier, with this in mind a couple of times i have tried to rejuice the waste and minimal amounts of juice were extracted so either the juicer has reached its max capacity to extract or there simply is no more juice in the said ingredients, it seems to do a solid enough job.Overall i would highly recommend this as an introduction to Juicing, i am sure it does just as a good a job as many other much more expensive comparable products, i just havent tried them. The minor issues i have picked up will not stop me using the unit, i expected a mess, maybe i just hoped for a little easier time cleaning down! Its a compact, well made, effective juicer. It makes juice of consistently high standard, it pulverises almost anything you can throw in it, bananas beware! Some minor points to be expected with any juicer that could be improved upon.If you are new to juicing like i am or you are looking for a solid compact juicer then this is most definitely a buy, especially at such a good price point.Four Stars.

Takes a lot of fruit so bit expensive to use often, Noise level good but flimsy lid on juice catcher
I got this today and used straight away. I was pleasantly surprised at the size, not as big as I’d feared. I juiced apples oranges lemons, some with skin some without. In all, 4 large oranges, 4 apples, 2 lemons in two batches. Again, quite impressed with taste and grandsons really loved it, as did I. Tomorrow doing vegetables and will let you know.

Great value, but stopped working after 1 month
I gave it 4 stars originally because the price was great and for the first month it worked perfectly but it has now stopped working I will tried to change the fuse to see if that’s the issue but sadly it’s not. it’s a great juicer when working. I bought one for a friend of mine too but now mine has stopped working I’m really disappointed as I cannot afford another one.

Buy it!!! Very very good product
This little machine is amazing. Small, silent and powerful. It extracts juice even from hard vegetables like beetroot/carrots /celery... It's awesome. Very easy to assemble, very easy to clean and not extremely noisy. Totally worth the price. Not a lot of waste-the rests are pretty dry, so you get a lot if juice (just the juice, no fruit pulp) totally recommend it!

Overall - not bad
Moved into a house with a HUGE apple tree in teh garden. Seemed a shame to waste them so I purchased this product to start my own Apple Juice production line! Overall the product is pretty good - but not brilliant. It is a bit fiddly to clean - and the filter does get quite a bit of pulp into the juice - so you defeinitely need to filter the juice again before drinking. But for the price - it's a pretty sturdy bit of kit

Great juicer especially for the price
Bought this juicer from the reviews and price range. As I've never used a juicer before it seemed a little confusing espcially the instructions, however upon using the first time it really is a simple gadget to use, wash and take apart. Absolutely love my juicer, hope it lasts the test of time. I use it every morning for celery juice and it gives me a great result. I followed the supplier advice by lining the trash compartment with a plastic food bag to make cleaning that bit easier. Very impressed with delivery as I was supposed to receive in over a weeks time, thank you!

Really nice juice, easy to clean
A great juicer. I'm really impressed with its power and smooth results. It chews through carrots and even stringy celery. It makes lovely juice I'm really pressed with it.It is easy to clean and maintain, which is excellent as that's usually one drawback to juicers.
