Minka-Aire F787-ORB, Simple 52" Ceiling Fan, Oil Rubbed Bronze Finish with Additional Wall Control

This replaces an aging 5 blade 52" Casablanca fan. First off, this unit looks way better than the Casablanca. This gets full marks for very neat installed appearance, all the fasteners are covered or obscured in a tidy fashion. The main disappointment is the airflow, it doesn't compare to the fan it replaced. That being said, it shouldn't be a surprise with only three blades. The installation is fairly straightforward, pretty standard fan installation. Two problems; first was the fact that the receiver for the fan and the associated wiring is a bit tight inside the cover, but it will fit. I think I got lucky in the way I routed the wires out of the box, keep that in mind when you're doing it. The second are the instructions. If you stick with the provided 6" downrod, you don't need to perform some steps in the instructions which involved disassembling the hardware that attaches the downrod. I got 75% of the way through that before I realized that, it might confuse you so watch for it. The only saving grace was that one of the set screws was loose from the factory so I caught that. One last tiny nit is is that the washers provided to hold the bracket to the box were too small and slip inside the slot provided in the bracket. I used the screws from the old bracket and it fit fine, otherwise you might need some bigger washers. Once installed it worked perfectly, very quiet and of course it looks great.I bought the associated wall control to use instead of the remote. The thing to be cautious of there is that they assume a certain wiring configuration, one that is probably best and you would prefer but I suppose may not be the case in all instances. I'd advise looking at your particular switch wiring and verifying against the installation instructions before purchasing that. I don't think that's really the mfg's fault, but something to be aware of.Assuming I need any other fans I would probably get another one of these. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 only because of the somewhat reduced airflow, not because of any quality issue. The fan is new so I'm not sure how it will last, time will tell.

The fan works very well. The picture Amazon shows is nothing like the look of the fan. The blades are nearly as dark as the fan body, and so the look is pretty badly off. A disappointment but it does do a good job of cooling.

I really like this fan! It's quiet, moves a lot of air, and gives a very minimalist look. It makes a subtle statement indefinitely doesn't stick out like some of the fancy or fans which I really like. I'm using this 52 in in my living room and put the smaller size on my Lanai and I'm very pleased.

This fan was perfect for our new pergola. It puts out a ton of wind. It will be great for the hot summer days. It’s sleek design looks awesome in our newly renovated space. We even bought a second one for another outdoor spot.

Smaller overall footprint than anticipated, but super quiet and well made.

I love the Minko brand. I especially like the remote control dependability. The remote ALWAYS works whether you aim it at the fan or not.

Fantastic fan. Quiet and no wobble. We installed outdoor under a cathedral ceiling and it looks amazing.
