we are looking into purchasing a leopard gecko. do the crickets really get out of the terrarium? and does it come with a heater?

leopard gecko: HEAT: you need, absolutely a must, FLOOR HEAT, for the belly, necessary for digestion, etc., at 90F, covering 1/3 of the bottom of the tank. the only reason to use any other heat is to maintain about 70F ambient temperature in the rest, but this should not be light, as light stresses them & they don't thrive or come out much. & no, the red or blue "night" bulbs unfortunately do not work, as the CAN see this spectrum well. one hide should be on the heat. one moist hide should be half on the heat to maintain humidity, for proper shedding, otherwise you lose toes & tail tips when lingering skin dries, contracts, & inhibits blood flow. & then one hide on the cool end. FOOD: feed them dubia roaches. crickets are less nutrition, noisy, can bite/wound/infect the gecko if left around, & escape. i just take Figaro out for feeding time, put him in his baby tub (shoebox sized), & add his food. that way i know exactly what he eats each time, & there are no excess food items hanging around in his home, escaping, adding waste, laying eggs, annoying him, or dying & blooming bacteria. i don't have to look for them or guess, & they don't leave vitamin powder behind, which also harbors bacteria. if you want a longer, casual, free-snacking schedule, a dish of mealworms works inside, as they stay put. dubia roaches are clean, silent, hold three days' worth of vegetables & nutrition in their guts for him instead of one, don't fly, can't climb smooth surfaces, & don't bite. screw crickets! feeding in the baby tub is super convenient all around, plus i can partially cover it with a towel, as their eyes are made for hunting in the dark. anything uneaten, or loose vitamin powder just gets tossed right back into the insect holding box, not messing up his enclosure.

Would this tank (12x12x12) be good for a baby corn snake? Or would the next size up be better?

I would recommend the 18x18x18. Something I've been told is that your snake tank should be at least as long as your snake. He might be a baby now, but in another 6-12 months, the 12x12x12 is gonna be too small and you'll have to buy a new one.

Regarding the exo terra mini (Wide) what are the dimensions of the bottom underneath the door? Looking to make the bottom part a "tank".

Exo Terra shows a picture for each size tank they sell that shows the height of the waterproof area. The 12x12x12 tank shows 5 inches. The 18x18x18 tank shows 7 inches. If you are using the tank for hermit crabs, only the larger tank will satisfy the minimum recommendations for hermit crabs to safely molt. Hermit crabs need a minimum of 6 inches of substrate to safely molt and for protection from crabs on the substrate surface.

will this terrarium work for a bearded dragon?

No. Bearded Dragons grow very fast and a juvenile would outgrow any of these tank sizes within a year. I learned the hard way and had to buy a couple of tanks in the first year I got mine. A long 20 gallon terrarium accommodated her for maybe 6-8 months and after that I upgraded her to a 50 gallon. The basking rock, food dish and water dish (which they love) take up a lot of space too so that's something to consider also.
