I previously wrote a negative review about this product as I was genuinely disappointed with it, but upon reading my review, the company got in touch with me and I tried another tin and it was much, much better than the first one. My original review is below and it seems I was just unlucky to have received an anomalous batch as the new one I tried is much nicer, brighter, tastes a lot smoother and more delicious, definitely what I'd expect from a top quality matcha. Very happy with the product and the company as a whole. It's pricey, but I will definitely be buying another one after I'm finished with this one. I do wish I could rate it 4.5 or even 4.9 as I feel I still have to factor in the original bad batch. But given the much better second tin and the excellent customer service, I don't think it would be right to rate it 4 stars, so I'm going with 5. Either way, this is a great matcha and I'm very pleased with it. Original review: 'According to their website, OMGTEA know what makes a good matcha, fine powder, bright, flourescent green, lovely smooth taste. But this product is none of those things. It's grainy and so it's harder to mix than every other matcha I've tried, it's dark green and has an overly earthy, not so pleasant taste. If I did a blind taste test, I would never guess this was matcha. This is easily the worst matcha I've bought on Amazon and the most expensive. Best matcha I’ve ever tried. Sweet, earthy and not too bitter like most matcha on the market. For one person, one pot every 2-3 months on a subscribe and save offers more value. For perfect results sift through a fine tea strainer before adding water (80°C or lower).

I'm not usually one for reviews, but just had a reminder to leave one and this purchase definitely deserves it. Best quality (and best tasting) matcha tea I've had - and I've tried a few?! I originally tried it at a food festival last year, and tested a number of other (cheaper) brands since then - unsurprisingly in retrospect, you get what you pay for!! It is expensive, but high quality matcha is. I was originally drawn to the health benefits of high-grade matcha, so following lockdown I'm all over this! A cup first thing in the morning is now part of my daily ritual, to give me an energy boost and zen feeling. I'm sensitive to caffeine but I don't get the jitters with this like I do with coffee. It feels more like a calm alertness. Will definitely be buying again.

This is hands down the most memorable matcha I ever tried. I have tried great matcha , from Japan and can easily distinguish betweeen poor and great matcha. This one was on the great side. However what stood out most for me wasnt the quality ( which im sure is great ) but rather how sweet it is. With all honesty, no jokes you can try the matcha without water and be straight surprised at how sweet it is ( compared to other matchas that is ). Unfortunately i have to say this is very , very pricey. As much as i love , i thought that whooa okay this is expensive. But i guess you do get what you pay for. I wouls also be very curious if the brand can reply to me, what green tea variety is this matcha made from? Would be very keen to learn that. Nevertheless great matcha!

Edited 27 Nov 2021 The original matcha I received appears to have been faulty. OMGTea's excellent customer service reached out and replaced the matcha. The following is from the replacement matcha. I have been drinking matcha for around 30 years, as well as pu-erh tea and love both. I bought the OMGTea AAA matcha and really enjoyed it. I highly recommend getting the AAA and am continuing to buy it and other matcha I drink. Based on how good the AAA OMGTea matcha is, I bought the AAA+. I wasn't expecting a huge difference in taste; I did notice a mild, subtle difference. It tastes pleasant enough that I'm going to add it into my matcha rotation occasionally.

This is an enjoyable matcha. Smooth, great colour depth and flavour. However, the current price is entirely unjustifiable. This product has increased in price the last two times I’ve purchased it. Charging £43 now - an increase of nearly £10 since my purchase in August is exorbitant and too expensive for this product.

I have been using the black premium matcha for 3 months now. The best matcha I have ever used available in the U.K. couldn’t recommend them enough especially a small business 👏🏾 it’s an incredible green colour and you can taste that it really is quality premium matcha...
