I've heard of others complaining about the filter not lasting 6 months but this depends upon usage and other events such as one we had where our water supply was contaminated due to flooding. I feel the filter did its job though as we experienced no change in taste, which is good. FYI - my primary purpose for use is to make my coffee taste better by eliminating the metalic chlorine taste in our water, which this does. Out of caution, we triggered the new delivery of a filter from Amazon since we have a subscription. I'm pleased to see it (claims) to remove microplastics too.The unit itself was installed by a local plumber we trust quite a while ago. Replacing the filter is very easy, just turn off the water and have a bucket nearby in case of some water dripping out. One note of caution is you MUST use this exact filter or what you get will not fit! It will seem close but will be a bit wonky and will leak quite a bit. We tried to grab one that looked the same from Lowes which carries AO-Smith but was different as it turns out. So, be sure you have the correct filter, the AO-MF-ADV. Honestly, it's not easy to find this badging on the shelves at Lowes. They often don't have this in stock.I find this a very nice system to use. If you have young kids, you may want to give them water out of another tap than the one this is installed on since this probably eliminates much/all of the fluoride in the water. Keep those kids' teeth healthy!Though Amazon and other still sell these filters, can anyone tell me if AO Smith still sells these or manufactures these still or are they moving to other systems? I absolutely cannot find these filters on AO Smith's site.

This is very easy to install and filters the water well. The water tastes so much better also.

Highly recommend! Does a great job filtering our water. Doesn't last as long as they say, but our water is not the cleanest. Doesn't leave the water tasting funny like some filters do.

Two minute swap out and my water flows faster. Somewhat pricey filter cartridge but worth the confidence of having clean, clear water and no leaks.
