Definitely made in China, but who cares?... I have been using mine for 15 years with excellent results. Do not scrub clean to bare metal, if juicing, as a minute amount of juice coloring provides a proper barrier to pulling metal ions off into future batches of juice.

Q: Is this 18/10 stainless steel?

Yes. It's very nice and I've used mine a lot...love it.

Q: What is the diameter of the holes of the steamer insert?

In ours they are about 1/8 of an inch and there are lots of them. We primarily use it for making grape juice and it works great.

Q: Can you use this to make the juice for grape jelly/jam?

It is not so good for jam because you really don't get much in the way of pulp. I have found this steam juicer to work best for seedless/pulpless juice, syrup, jelly. I have several very productive grape vines on my property. I used to just let them go to waste before I had this steam juicer. IMHO, this is the only way to go for processing grapes. Give the grapes a wash. They can go into the steamer with the stems on but you can fit more grapes in the steamer if you take the stems off first. Out comes the most clear grape juice you can imagine. The seeds, skins, stems stay in the steamer basket & you can just dump that in your compost pile. Forget the jelly bag or victorio strainer. I think this steam juicer is awesome for processing the grapes, currents, blackberries, and raspberries that grow on my property. I do like pulp but my dear husband does not like seeds. If you want pulp, then you will have to use other tools such as a Vitamix, Victorio Strainer, food mill.
