Well made , good for chewing and playing fetch

It’s challenging to review this because I bought it for my son’s dog, and it doesn’t interest him at all, even though he likes and plays with regular balls. The ball appears to be good quality, which is typical for this brand. He likes to play tug of war, so I thought the combination with a ball would be a hit. The strap looks durable, so time will tell if he develops an interest in playing with this at some point. The ball is hard rubber and fairly heavy, so it should hold up to an aggressive chewer. It doesn’t squeak or make any other noise. It bounces unpredictably and erratically because of the attached strap. Both the strap and ball are easy to clean with soap and water.

I love the chuck it line of products. It’s pretty durable and holds up to my big dog’s bite. My little dog likes it because she can grab it by the webbing (she’s a Pug). It bounces nicely inside and outside. They both find it fun to play with. I like tossing it by the webbing to get it to fly down the hallway.

DOG LOVED THIS BALL LAST BUT STRAP SHREDS

Just a little update--this has been VERY sturdy! Our puppy has chewed and chewed on this and I can't even see any dents let alone damage. Impressed! So far, this is great (I say so far because our puppy is SUPER destructive...). The Chuckit brand is one we've bought before and been pleased with the quality of their balls, ball throwers, etc. This is a fun toy to either play fetch or tug-of-war, or the dog can just chew on it himself. I hope it lasts for a bit, it was really fun to tease him with it and he loved chewing on it!

I normally really like the overall quality of Chuckit toys, but this one is a bit of a clumsy design, in my opinion. First off- it doesn't float! The handle goes through the middle of the ball and leaves tons of hollow space on either side. When put (or dropped accidentally by a thirsty dog) in the pond, both sides fill, and it sinks. Those hollow pockets also look like great places for dirt and other crud to accumulate. Also look like weak spots for tearing. I wish I had known it didn't float before I purchased it. Needs a redesign. Maybe sealed around the handle? Would love to see a rubber Chuckit ball with a handle that floats. Obviously, none of this bothers my dog. He adores it just the same. (Until it sinks, and then he gets upset)
