Great torch
I bought this to replace a similar, more expensive, torch that had become intermittent. The OLIGHT S2R Baton II is small, easy to hold and feels very solid and well made. The power button is easily found with a thumb when illumination is required. The most powerful setting is a good bright light that does the job. The torch is small enough to carry in a pocket anywhere. Not the cheapest, but in my experience buying a cheap version of this sort of torch is false economy.

Super bright strong torch
This is the 2nd one of these i have bought as the first one got stole.Working on a ship there are plenty of dark spaces and this torch is ideal for lighting them up.Fits nicely in a shirt pocket or in trousers and has 3 brightness modes as well as flashing which is more then enough.Magnetic base is useful for attaching to things when using both hands.Mabye a little overpriced but is occasianally on offer for £40 but i would still say its worth it when full price. The USB charger included charges the torch in no time and will get a good amount of time before needing to recharge.

Compact powerful, good battery life
There are a few things I love about this torch, it’s compact, you could even say small, but it’s very bright, especially in the high power mode. single click turns the torch on, double click for high-power mode, triple click for strobe. You can also hold the button to dim the torch. No toggling through all the modes to get back to the one you want. The charger connects magnetically, just place the back of the torch within a few centimetres of the charge connector and it snaps into place. The only drawback is that there is no ‘Focus’ facility on the torch, but it’s so bright, that’s not really a major issue. I bought this to replace an ledlenser torch that was around the same price after it broke. Would recommend.

Pricey but nicey
Fantastic torch. Turbo mode heats it up very quickly. I work as a night supervisor in a healthcare setting, going from one residential setting to another on campus.I love the moonlight mode when I check on my residents to ensure they are ok by not waking them up. Then when I am outside going to the next house, I can switch to a much brighter mode easily. If needs be for defence, I can turn on the strobe mode. I already have the now out of production S1Baton and the Warrior and they too are great torches. They are expensive, but I had money off vouchers so it was a win-win situation!

Great little torch but complicated functions
This is my first Olight torch having moved across from Led Lenser (reason being: Led Lenser torches end up with flickering bad contacts in the switch/battery compartment after a few years use for some reason)The initial impression is fantastic quality, really nice machining and finish. The packaging is lovely with a nice bag to store the torch in when not in use. The battery arrived charged but the instructions advised to charge fully before use (which I did).Brightness is fantastic for such a compact torch, it has three running modes which are accessed by holding the power button to cycle to a different brightness - from low mode for very dark rooms, just enough to walk around. Then to medium for general walking outdoors, to high for long distance viewing outdoors. There is a Turbo mode which is accessed by double clicking the power button and will last for maybe 30 seconds or so before reducing back to the previously selected power mode.Charging is beautifully easy with the magnetic charging port and USB connection.I've marked the torch as 4 stars rather than five as the mode cycling, turbo access and other timer modes are far too complicated to access properly with the button requiring very quick tapping which my 45 year old toolmakers/caver fingers can't properly do (yes I can double tap, but too slowly for the torch to respond properly - machinist/climbers fingers see!).If they sorted the mode switching to say long hard press for turbo instead of two quick taps, or maybe another button for the timer functions then things would be so much easier.Good torch though, lets see how long it last for in a rough environment of work. I think it'll do ok....UPDATE:So, after using the Olight Baton II for a while I've noticed a few things that come to mind that I though I'd share.1) The most irritating thing is the mode/on/off switch. The quick presses and slow presses to navigate the various modes is certainly not user friendly. The mode swap is far too near to the boost mode operation in that the mode switch is two quick presses then hold, the boost is two quick presses then release - sounds easy, but in practise in a work environment when there is a lot going on around you - just a pain and not user friendly.2) It took a while to notice this, but if you unscrew the front/lens part by even a fraction then the light turns off. Obviously the contact between the battery to electronic housing is very fine with little consideration given to internal tolerances etc. The whole unit must be completely screwed together tightly to enable the torch to operate, if you unscrew the front element by a tiny amount then the torch will not work. Perhaps some longer internal contacts would be a good idea Olight?Other than this, now a few hundred hours into usage underground and still going strong even with all the muck and rough treatment that it gets when caving etc. Still a happy customer!

Very bright powerful light.
A great torch, super bright and fits in a pocket. Good battery life, easy charging with indicator when complete. Great brand too as I have had these before. You will not be disappointed.

Buying into the Olight family
I had been looking for a good torch for a while, having bought a few cheap LED "2000+ lumen" ones and finding out they were barely 1500 I decided I wanted to go for something premium and reliable. After looking at Lumintop and not liking the fact you have to remove the battery to charge I found the S2R Baton II from a Peter McKinnon EDC video and got interested. It was mainly the form factor and the round LED rather than the cheap square ones. Once I had it in my hands I can see why Olight is such a reputable brand. The feel, lightness, simple functions and hat clip make it feel they know what their customers want and deserve. Thank you Olight!
