I found through research that there are only 2 small differences between this and the original
When I was a kid I wanted this particular transformer so much that it was unhealthy. I begged my parents for this for about 3 months before Xmas. I kinda knew what to expect because one of my childhood friends had one, and showed it to me. When Xmas finally came I got the transformer Grimlock instead. That wasn’t bad but wasn’t as good. Now that I have it at 40 something years old I can’t put it down. I watched a number of YouTube reviews on this while waiting for it to come in the mail. The 2 differences on appearance are that the buttons in front waist are a little different (I think better),and the the decipticon emblem on his chest is not a rub sticker. You can see that on the picture. Otherwise every thing is the same as it was in the 80s. The buttons on the front are NOT cheap looking. Bust most important for me is the feet are still made out of metal. If your a very serious collector the small differences might be a big deal (I could understand) But then you would have to buy either the Toys R Us reissue or the Comic-Con anniversary reissue. Those cost MUCH more(about a hundred dollars)so am very Happy with what I got. Best of all Buzzsaw is neater than I thought he would be.

Reissue of "The Holy Grail of Generation 1 Transformers"
A must have for those who can't move on from their 80s childhood. Most of us don't want to remember how ugly the bot-form was for many of the original Transformers, the focus seemed to be on the alternate mode looking good. But not Soundwave, or any of the cassettes for that matter. And while I prefer his alternate mode from Transformers Prime (Drone), at the time of its original release back in the 1980s portable cassette players (Walkman) were very popular, because portable CD players were expensive and had problems with skipping until the 1990s when anti-skip technology was introduced. The only problem for anyone making this purchase is you're going to also want the Ravage/Rumble & Laserbeak/Frenzy reissues as well. So all together that's $90 plus tax if you were lucky enough to have found these on a Walmart shelf, and now the value has gone up to over $100 for just Soundwave & Buzzsaw.

Great item, as described, no issues.
No issues. Great item. "Roughly" arrived as describe by Amazon. I didn't pay exact attention to the shipping since it was coming from China. But it arrived within a day or two of what Amazon said. Item was as described as advertised. I would have no issues buying another from this seller.

What a Beautiful Toy
To me, this is more than a toy. It was my holy grail of Transforming robots. My friend and I wanted this figure so badly, we would stare for hours at the toy catalogs with hope and longing. He finally got it, but I did not. Mainly because the toy was so incredibly difficult to find. Even at the Toys R Us! It was just not in stock when I would visit.I had this toy off and on over the years eventually, but never complete. Either the parts were damaged, loose, and missing all the accessories as it is so common with this line.OK, now for this figure.First off, this is very, very pricey. Sadly, the local Walmart did not have this figure in stock, just Optimus Prime without the trailer (boo!), a few of the minis (I picked up Bumblebee with the remolded head :D ), Starscream (I kick myself not picking that up), and Devastator. I was on the fence about this for quite some time, but finally pulled the trigger. This was just too tempting to pass up again. I am glad I did. This thing is gorgeous! After 35+ years, I have a mint condition Soundwave. I cannot be happier. Some differences do exist for those that know about this toy:* The hand cannon's insert does not fire. Which is an upside, because those things wound up getting lost from the spring loading mechanism. Purists may find this annoying.* This does not have a rub symbol. That irks me. Especially at this price point.* The stickers have poor adhesive. I had to use a bit of Superglue to affix some of the stickers, which are a strange metallic type. It's kind of cool looking, but unwieldy to affix to the figure.* The red decoder is not included. It was not included with Hot Rod, either. At this price, I would have liked all the accessories. Including being able to read the tech specs. That is part of the fun!Otherwise, it is just like the original. The cassette door looks and works great, Buzzsaw looks badass, and has fantastic articulation to display proudly on the bookcase. This figure is miles better than Blaster.
