Not sure if this is right for me
About assembly: there are a couple of points that are not very clear in the instructions. When putting in the horizontal part, they say to align it with the thread in the vertical part -- but there is no such thread. What it should say is, "Use the smallest allen wrench to loosen the little nut on the side. Put the vertical link of the horizontal part into the hole at the top of the vertical part. Then tighten the nut using the smallest allen wrench." Very confusing.Another point that is not at all clear in the instructions is that in order to stabilize the horizontal part, once the tablet or phone is installed, you need to use the middle allen wrench to tighten the joint. Also, apparently, I'm going to have to keep tight hold of those allen wrenches if I'm going to be able to put the device into multiple different positions. That's not common with this sort of device to need to retain an allen wrench to operate the thing. On the one hand, my last tripod is needing replacement because the threads stripped on the thumb screw that positions the top tube -- and the bottom thumb screw, which positions the legs on the base, never held from day 1 -- which indicates that thumb screws can be problematic. On the other hand, I feel that having to loosen and tighten things in an ongoing way, using an allen wrench, is not ideal.Another problem that I'm having is that my phone is in an otter box plus I put a magnet on the back so that I can mount it on the dashboard of my car. With the otter box and the magnet, I cannot put my phone into the clamp of this device in selfie position. I can put it in screen first. This may work out because I'm using the phone as a web-cam with the Camo software. That software can use the main camera of the phone, which means that I can put the screen side of the phone into the clamp. It's still going to be a bit tricky getting the lightening to USB cable through the slit in the clamp, and the opening of the otter box -- propping open the flap -- and thence into the phone to hook the phone to my laptop and use the Camo software while the phone is in this device. It's not impossible, but a bit tricky. There was some blurb about this device that it could hold a 4.7' phone, which I think mine is -- and it can, but only lengthwise. It can't adjust down to 4.7'. That's just the screen size of the phone.I don't quite dare take off the otter box, with the attached magnet, to put the phone into the device, as I think it would be too easy to drop the phone while putting it into the clampAnyway, if I hadn't put the magnet on the back of the otter box, I wouldn't be having this problem. The clamp on my old tripod could handle the magnet, tho. This stand has a sturdy feel to it in terms of the base, which is very heavy, and the large tubes, which are quite solid. I'm not so sure about the little nuts that you have to tighten with an allen wrench to adjust the position. Those don't look so sturdy. So, I'm not quite sure if I should keep this thing.

Good but not for everyone.
I think all the parts that are going to break have broken. Everything else I feel will hold up through normal wear and tear. The picture of the broken part is from where the vertical stand meets the cross bar. I used a 5/16 bolt with a square head as a replacement. The normal hex bolt I feel is a little small for the inside diameter of the vertical tube. The squarehead is a little bit bigger so after filing it down it fits just perfect. The next thing I did was take a bunch of 1/4 washers that I drilled out to be 5/16 and put them on the bolt that was replacing the broken part. If you use a good lube on all the moving parts, anything that's metal on metal, You should be fine. I also took fender washers where all of the metal joints are. The last thing I did was apply Loctite to the screw that holds the plastic phone/tablet holder to the metal rod.Now because I use a Samsung Galaxy tab S7 plus in the most extended position I need to have weight on the stand to keep it sturdy. My cross bar is just over 22" and how my tablets case is, the plastic holder can't be in the middle of my tablet but the far right side, further extending the reach. Measuring from the center of my tablet to the center of the vertical pole is 29".Would I buy it again, I think so.Could I fab something together for a lot less, yeah. Will it look as pretty, no.Do I recommend it to others? If you know your way around some basic tools and are willing to trouble shoot broken things, I would say yes.Update 11May21The customer service is outstanding. I had a little issue and they worked with me to solve my little issue. They got back in touch with me within the hour after my initial email.I would 100% recommend this to others.Again like I said above, yeah somethings break from time to time but it's what they do to rectify your problem. I took this stand to the extreme and found something that could be made a little better. For this price, you really can not go wrong.

Good stand for the price with some issues
The media could not be loaded. The stand design is a good one and despite the heavy base and counterweight I can pick it up with one hand and move it from the chair to the couch or push it with my foot. Problems I’ve encountered are mostly with the claw part as the plastic nut is very hard to tighten and where it attaches is very wobbly with no way to fix. Another reviewer Ben suggested using “Locktight” on it. He also mentioned that customer service was very helpful. HOWEVER when I tried to contact them the phone was disconnected AND when I emailed I haven’t received a response in over a week.

Over a year of use, it's just like new still - liked so much gave as gift to Dad and Brother
I am obsessed with this tablet stand. It's sturdy, easy to use, move, and blends well into the room when not in use. I actually take it up and down stairs daily based on where I'm using it. I bought this to use next to the sofa or chair while watching TV, and now use to bring bedside and it works just as well. Needed something that's main pole was high enough for the bed, but that could move up and down for use by the lower sofa or chair. Have been using over a year (as of this review) and ordering more for holiday presents.Side note: I later bought the other top rated brand on amazon (viozon) to reduce the need to move this stand back and for to different rooms - the other brand doesn't go up and down without unscrewing the nob every time, and it's not nearly as long at its max length ....so I never use that one, it sits in the closet. Also - read the reviews to not overtighten the actual mount to tablet nob part (the only plastic part), and haven't had any issues. Solid stand - a bit pricey but to me, worth it for sure.
