Fresh Whole Plantains (5lb) Tropical Importers

For a perishable item, the product was received in good condition and ripened well. The quality of the plantains was good. and tasted well whether fried or boiled. I was a bit surprised that there were only seven (7) plantains in the box. I expected more plantains for the costs charged. It is a convenient buy for those who cannot get out to the stores.

Fresh Whole Plantains and they arrived green. I ordered them because I wanted yellow plantains. I ordered them on June 4 and they arrived on June 15th. They were green. On inspection they were in great shape and they looked like real, natural plantains look. I figure they will ripen to nice yellow plantains. I gave this product five stars on all counts, if they don't turn yellow and taste good I will amend this review. (With in days they did turn yellow and tasted great 7/17.)

This plaintain did not turn yellow at all. Even after keeping it in a warm place of the house it refused to ripe. Instead it turned black and remained hardened. I ended up throwing it away. Not worth the time, patience or money. I will never purchase this product online again for this reason. I’ll rather purchase in store so I can see what I’m buying.

Great product.

They were not as bright as I would hope but giving it some time they ripened just fine and became sweet the rest it didn't become sweet I made chips out of it.

Updating my review.... received fresher plantains this time... still expensive though but tastes nice

The plantains are the closest I’ll get to Jamaica plantains. I will always order off Amazon. I’m glad I came across these now I don’t have to wait until I go back to Jamaica 🇯🇲

I was a little worried since they said they ship the plantains on Nov 6 and I got them on Nov 14. They came lil green Wich is good because it will give me time to consume them without a hurry. I was a little scared ordering because some of the reviews ... It came in a really good shape. I can't wait to cook them. I love love plantains
