ACDelco 1148963 GM Original Equipment 10-5045 Multi-Purpose Fluorescent Leak Detection Dye - 1 oz

I put the whole bottle in my 7.3. This truck takes 4 gallons of oil for anyone wondering how much you need, well, it dyed enough for me. I shined in the bottle to see the color, it's bright orange almost. I've already found one leak, and maybe that's it. But I'll have to run it longer to know for sure. Good stuff, worked as intended.

I have been fighting transmissions leaks in my 67 Camaro for ages. The dye really lets you see the source of the leak. I cleaned under the car really well and added the dye. Then I drove it a few miles. Using the special glasses and the black light I got with the dye, I could see exactly where the fluid was leaking from. The dye will not hurt anything.

The media could not be loaded. Pretty cool product! I wanted to put it to the test just to be sure so check out the video attached if you’re curious. I tested the dye in a small bottle with a uv flashlight to be able to see any leaks as clear as possible (it shows florecent orange so you can really really see). It definitely identifies leaks! I’m a fan. :)

Product does what it is intended for.Used it to successfully detect oil leaks at the timing chain gasket on my truck.

This glows very brightly under UV light. A few small drop works well. It will get everywhere so be careful but a good purchase.

Expensive but works. Used whole bottle to find engine oil leak. Dye was very visible. Suggest you add dye and start car and look for leaks. Because leak was oil pan gasket putting the dye in and driving the car around first made a mess and very hard to find leak because everything was covered in dye.

I watched some videos on how to use this and was told you had to use a lot for it to show up well. My results were quite the opposite. This is plenty strong and makes any leaks/cracks very easy to see. Glows a bright orange under a blacklight. I will definalty keep a bottle of this around for finding leaks.

I was trying to track down a fluid leak in my 7.3 powerstroke diesel so I bought this and added it to my oil. Although it does work I had a hard time using it to my advantage being that an old Diesel engine has tons of sludge all around it. This product alone did not really aid in tracking down the leak because of how much surface area I would have to cover to find exactly where it is coming from also I had a hard time deciphering what was glowing under the UV light and what wasn’t probably because petroleum already has a very shiny look to it especially under a UV light. Would recommend this for use in smaller gas engines and in power steering pumps.
