What is the mil ( plastic weight)?

I dont know the mm thickness of the plastic but I can tell you that it is very, very thin. It was so thin that I erroneously thought it was just a single sheet, but no it opens up for your clothes! So far it's worked out ok, just not the greatest!

No, they do not protect against humidity. They are not sealed. They are as advertised, dust covers only.

are they open at the bottom?

Yes, the bottom is fully open to insert shirt and there's a hole on top for the hanger.
