I was initially very excited for this dog door. The install went relatively smoothly, and we got a few great weeks of use out of it. However, the lock for the door is total junk. It has completely come apart, the key doesn't even control the metal door stopper anymore. So if we want our girls to be able to use the dog door, we have to tape the door stop up.So now i either have to pay a locksmith to try and fix it for me, or replace my entire backdoor and use a different model.I had hoped for higher quality. Especially for the price.

I was really nervous about spending ~$400 for a dog door, but most of the reviews on here were good and the materials/quality of the door looked good. I was excited to get a door that was made with metal and wasn't just cheap plastic. I had hoped that this would last us for a long time, so I bit the bullet and spent the money. Unfortunately, that was a mistake.Here are the list of problems that we've had with the door:* Screws that hold in the metal sheet for blocking the dog door would not thread properly and were very difficult to screw in/off. One got stuck and I had to get some pliers to get it out.* Right door would get stuck in the open position EVERY time the dogs went through the door. I would have to manually close it every time I walked past. I believe this was probably an issue with the internal spring.* Because the door would get stuck open, hot air/dirt was an issue.* Even when the doors remained closed, a fine layer of dirt would build up in the area near the door. This means the door did not seal as tightly as it claims.* The right door has fallen completely off of the hinge and now there is just a hole leading into our house.We have only used this dog door for about 5 months. It did not stand the test of time, and I am extremely disappointed. $400 down the drain. I guess I'll be spending more money and going back to the plastic flap dog doors.

This is the actually 2nd door that I bought, for a new home, because we loved our 1st one so much. I've gone through several cheaper doors before this one, and I am delighted it is so robust in terms of quality of construction and insulation. You get what you pay for! The lock and the metal plate give me the peace of mind when we leave town that no one will be able to break in through the door. The 1st one I bought did have a small issue after several years of use and abuse of our large dog running in and out, and slamming the doors open, where one of the springs for the door came loose, preventing the door from closing. However, I contacted customer service, and they immediately sent clear instructions on how to repair this. It took me less than an hour to repair, and the door has been good as new for the months since. I highly recommend this door.

Had a plexidor for 15 yes in old house. When moved to new home agonized over which door to get. Choose this door because of the advertised weather seal. With it installed I am pleased. Dogs did not have any issues adjusting to the thicker door panels. I will update once winter gets here. My door had recessed panel so I had to build a bit of a frame but it looks and fits well.

Dogs are still getting used to it but overall I think it was a good purchase.

Nice quality product that is easy to clean. Doors are clear and double wall hard plastic to stand up to weather and won't warp over time like the vertical flaps on standard dog doors. We had our contractor install into the wall of our house.

Could have better fit and finish for the price.

Unit functions fine. My dog caught the weather stripping on one of the doors and ripped it out. I cannot find a replacement. Is the company even still making this product ??
