I am a very big fan of Taylor of old bond street products. The rustic scent is rare and masculine devoid of perfume type scents giving a more rugged gentleman's feel. I am unsure of the contents of the bar itself but it's cleaning properties are exceptional. I have used this after working on cars, in the field, or on various home projects. In never failed to remove the dirt and grime or take away the oil, sweat, and body odor. Altogether an excellent product. My only complaint is shipping time as it usually doesn't fall within the normal amazon 24-48 hour delivery schedule.

It smells wonderful Rich and luxurious smell. Lathers up nice and leaves my skin feeling moisturized. I have sensitive skin and have no issues with this soap. Love it!!

For me, this soap is awesome. It smells great and the scent doesn't change over time like so many other soaps do. Maybe it's some kind of body chemistry thing but, who cares, it works for me. It may be different for different people so you'd probably just have to try it out and see how it works for you. The smell also isn't too strong and it actually lasts all day. I can even smell it still after work when I go to my yoga class and it stills smells the same. Also, I've noticed that a little goes a long way. I only need to lather up a wash rag once and then put the soap back on the dish and use the wash rag for my entire body. I think I was wasting a lot of it in the past by using the actual bar along with the wash rag when I didn't really need to.

So this hands down the best soap I’ve used to date. I can’t stand liquid body washes and most bar soaps really dry out my skin. I’ve always used Taylor of Old Bond Street shave soap and I love it. I didn’t realize they made a bar soap and when I did I thought I would try it. Initially out of the box it smells like a really strong ivory, i was disappointed. Then I used it and the ivory smell went away and the sandalwood smell came through very nice. It’s never left my skin dry and it has a very nice mans fragrance. If you like their shave soap give it a shot.

Today, I'm reviewing the Taylor of Bond Street (TOBS) Sandalwood bar soap. I'll cover both the positives and the drawbacks based on my experiences after using it a dozen or more times. Scent: My past experiences with TOBS sandalwood products, like their shaving cream and cologne, left me disappointed. They didn’t capture the sandalwood essence I was hoping for. Thankfully, this soap is different. It has a mild, clean scent that's not overpowering or offensive, and it doesn’t resemble the sandalwood aroma of their other products. Performance: The bar is substantial and seems to have a good lifespan. It lathers well and cleans effectively without leaving your skin feeling dry or oily. I’ve had no issues with clogged pores, breakouts, or irritation. Additionally, there’s no residue left at the bottom of the shower. Cost: The price of TOBS soap on Amazon varies significantly, ranging from about $6 to $14. I find the higher end of this range to be excessive for any soap, which affects my rating. Although the soap doesn’t fully deliver on its sandalwood promise (which is a good thing here), I’ll refrain from deducting an additional star for that. Final Thoughts: Overall, this soap is worth trying, especially if you can find it at a reasonable price

Great texture and smell, have reordered another bar… quality soap!

I'm reluctant to write this because I don't want too many people in on this great product but here goes. I decided a few years ago that I needed to switch from boy soap to men's soap. My skin was changing and the Irish Spring I'd been using since I was 8 was just not cutting it at nearly 40. This soap smells good and manly. Not like AXE or the other men's soaps at the store. I get a lot of compliments on this soap but it is very subtle. My wife has a sensitivity to strong smells and she even likes it. That's good enough for me plus it doesn't dry out my skin like the old stuff.

At first I disliked the smell because it reminded me of my grandfather and I thought it was the smell of an old man. But my wife loved it and now I am enjoying it too, after some getting used to. The scent is quite strong. It will fill the toilet or bathroom and act as well as a cologne for yourself. The soap lather is rich and soft. It will last a long time, I have been using it daily for a while and only wore it down about half way so it is actually fairly cheap.

Typical Taylor of Old Bond Street quality, I read a few of the reviews and chuckled at the negatives. Expectations are key, this soap is exactly what you should expect in every possible way and is worth every penny. This is a traditional vegetable based soap, with a great creamy lather that works well used directly on the body, with a body sponge or shower brush. In fact, this is one of the better for lather with a shower brush that I've used. The style of soap is old school in that it's a lightly fragranced soap that leaves a subtle scent for hours. The creamy texture leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft without feeling overly moisturised. Overall, a great soap that smells manly and lasts a long time without being harsh to the skin with regular use.
