From a National Goddess to male imposed Obscurity
I have read many ancient texts referring to this particular goddess. I found this work to be refreshing and in concert with ancient traditions and thought. I do, however, caution "fundamentalist" that this work will more than likely offend you; but, in ages prior to the Jesus appearance on earth, and especially during the creation period when balance was the norm-this work, I think, makes perfect sense. To assume that women have somehow been "cursed" with original sin or the (forever) agents of 'evil' just lacks credibility. Why do male clergy and so called "holy men" fear goddesses so much? This was not always the case-balance is returning, notice it by the shift of equilibrium throughout the planet (?)

Why do I worship the Goddess?
In the the Lalitopakhyana, a very important question is posed:What can be done to save the weak and ignorant the souls that inhabit the Kali Yuga? The answer is that there are two possible paths: a) After renouncing all worldly things, one can, by long discipline and meditation, attain knowledge of the formless, attribute-less Divine. This way is very difficult. b) The second method is to worship the Divine Mother who is the form of God with attributes. Even a sinner can do this worship. There is another advantage in this Way. The devotee can simultaneously have enjoyment and attain salvation by following it.==============Most people only know the patriarchal way of worship that is very austere and difficult. By devoting yourself to love (Ishtar), compassion (Quan Yin), power (Kali), wisdom (Saraswati), and of course abundance (Lakshmi) you will have a bountiful and deep life both materially and spiritually. It is through worshiping the false idols of greed, lust, fear, and hate do we stop worshiping the divine. These are the false idols we should avoid at all cost.

Pure divine love, a love letter written to humanity by the Goddess.
This has to be one of the most compassionate text I have read on the Goddess, usually I'm not into all this love stuff as I like embracing the darker aspect of the goddess, but this had me twirling like a 14 year old girl who just fell in love for the first time. this book touched my heart with the love and divine compassion expressed through this goddess. I felt like Ishtar wrote love letters to us humanity, she not only welcomes welcomes you into a loving embrace of divine love, but to feel it, express it. it touched me to the core and I felt the softer aspect of goddess for once I was not afraid to embrace.
