Very impressed with this drill.
Very impressed with this drill, it has paided for itself and more. The battery storage is great and its durability is really good, it's been dropped quite a lot but still keeps going, for a 18volt drill the torque is also great.

Great little bit of kit
More than I expected from a cheaper priced small drill. Charges quickly. Charge doesn't last super long for drilling wood with hammer action, but recharged in about 10 minutes. After all it isn't a 24 volt battery. But it meant I took a timely break instead of ploughing on. Great for DIY. Will last more than 1 job. Torque is good and doesn't get hot. I'd also recommend it for screwdriver jobs as it is well aligned and light to hold.

It is Good, but it's not great.
I bought this drill as I needed to put some furniture together asap, it worked for the job but I noticed it locked out on a basic ikea bedframe, a more powerful drill would have managed to get the job done, I found myself having to use a ratchet to tighten a bit more. Battery life is fantastic, haven't needed to charge at all so far and I've had it a few weeks, Basic DIY, you'll be fine.. anything more and you will need something of better quality but you'll need to spend a bit more.

Brilliant drill/driver, powerful, good price, quick charge, portable, light, plenty of screwdriver heads & drill bits.Buy it now
I THOUGHT I wanted a Black & Decker (recognisable brand name) but this had much better reviews so thought I'd try it, and I know why now! It is a great drill AND a fantastic screwdriver. Compact & light enough for this arthritic lady to complete some BRILLIANT DIY jobs (even if I say so myself). I love the fact it is portable & charges quickly. I love that there are sufficient screw driver heads & drill bits to suit my amateur skills. I love that the bits are magnetic so I can't lose them easily. I adjusted the torque once when screwing a very tight thing & it was slipping, it worked better - but I am not sure about torque or gears (yet). I'm blown away by how powerful yet controllable and easily managed this tool is. Not got much experience with power tools but I absolutely love this, highly recommend it to you AND will buy Mylek brand again in the future. A superb buy.

Good drill, but the accessories are rubbish!
I had a Black and Decker NiCad drill/driver for about 20 years and it finally stopped holding the charge. For the price of buying a new battery I found the Mylek and it is as good as the reviews say. I'm sure technology has come on a lot since my B&D was made, so perhaps all modern drivers are like this or better, but I am reasonably impressed. There will be better "professional" equipment that will last longer, and maybe not as heavy for all-day use, but you pay dearly for them, but this was about £30! Here are my pros and cons. Pro. Weight-wise, it is lighter than my old one. It weighs 1.16kg with battery and no bit. Pro. It is also a bit less bulky, so fits in tight spaces more easily. Pro. Battery life. I have only used it for a couple of jobs so far, unscrewing and screwing a few dozen heavy decking screws, with a bit of drilling. When it arrived it showed as fully-charged (traffic lights, red yellow green, all on) and currently it is still on green. Hopefully it will gradually change to yellow then red before dying, but time will show. Con. I have found the trigger to be not always sensitive, like sometimes it can't tell when you're pressing it, so you push a bit harder then all is good. Not really a problem, but if you need precision control it might be an issue. Con. The accessories that come with it are garbage! Think the cheapest cheap metal. One drill bit broke on first use. The magnetic bit holder is wonky so the bits move off-centre while you're trying to use it. I already had a 20 year old one which was much better! I took a video of it but can't seem to upload it. If you are buying this because it comes with these accessories, bear in mind you will probably throw them away! You'll be much better spending £5 on a set from Screwfix. Con. No hammer action, but it's £30. I'll use my corded drill for heavyweight stuff. Con. Being a random brand, when it goes wrong, or if I need a spare battery, it's unlikely that I will get one. If you plan on using it heavily you need to find a 2-battery set. That said, there isnt a separate charging dock - you charge the battery while it is on the driver - so I'm not sure if you could be charging a spare while it wasn't in use. Sounds like a lot of cons, but that all said, I'm very happy with it. Holds the charge, powerful enough for the jobs I've thrown at it so far. It's a drill and a screwdriver and does the job well.

Does the job
Bought this for just regular use around the house instead of phoning my dad to lend me his full set. It does the job. It's light weight, easy to use and does all the general household DIY you could want out of it. It's not super powerful and it doesn't hold charge for too long but if you are looking for something cost-effective to just too the odd jobs around the house this is probably perfect for you!
