Ok, dumb question here... Is the 16" diameter the dimension of the base/bottom or the very top ? Does anyone know the base diameter? Thanks...

Hi,I just went outside and measured the dimensions of the pot holder. The top inner dimension is 15 inches. The bottom inner dimension is 13 inches. The outer top dimension is just about 16 inches, including the lip. Hope that helps. I had the same types of questions, trying to match existing pot sizes.

Does it have an inner raised area that narrows the available flat space for the pot?

No. It has shallow ribs of about 1/8" but bottom is flat. I use mine as bird baths. Works great for this and would work well for its intended purpose. Hope this helps.

No. the 18 inch pot will not fit. The bottom is 17 inches in diameter. The top rim is 21 inches.

is the bottom of the saucer 24 inches at the base or is the top of the saucer side to side 24 inches?

I got the 21 inch saucer, not the 24 inch saucer. It's 21 inches at the top outside but has a rolled edge so is ~19.5 inches inside top. It tapers and the inside bottom is ~18 inches. I'd guess the 24 inch saucer will likely have the same rolled edge and taper so will probably be ~22.5 inches inside top and ~21 inches inside bottom. Hope this helps.
