Sage advice that girls and women need. Today, women and girls have no taste and look and act like slobs. And attitudes are vulgar. If you appreciate reading about the fashion sense, this book is for you. For example, the hats in this book are outdated today, but you can apply the fashion sense about hats as you dress today. Fashion is forever changing, but fashion sense in the ways of simplicity, good taste, and grooming will always have the highest standards. Mr. Dior says it with elegance and grace.

My wife has an affinity for fashion books, and wanted to begin growing her collection. This is the first book I purchased to get her collection started. She loves the book, and has added it to our coffee table. The hardcover book has a bit of texture to the cover, and is printed on very nice paper. As the title states, this is a great little book to get for your loved one as a "just because" gift. It's priced great, and with Prime you can't beat the free shipping! the is an adorable book in that it is a pleasure to hold, a gem to browse through, a flash of evidence that fashion IS and will always be linked to some very classic bases that we must be aware of, and loaded with easy to access bits of information. to anyone who has a collection of classics in their closet, they will want this in their reference collection.

My wife is my fashion consultant, so when I saw this book offered on Amazon (at the BEST price I could find on the web) I had to get it for her. Well, to say that she was THRILLED is an understatement. She loves the classic fashion looks and this book was right up her alley. Guys - if your wife (or girlfriend) is a fashionista - GET HER THIS BOOK!!! She'll love you for it.

This is a great little book for anyone interested in fashion, however, you’d be crazy to follow the tips/rules in this book religiously. This was written by Christian Dior who is undoubtedly iconic and one of the most influential designers of all time BUT, keep in mind that most of what he talks about only really applies to women who were alive several decades ago. A lot has changed since then and the average modern woman doesn’t wear hats, frocks, gloves, etc all year round anymore, so keep that in mind when reading.

This book has short entries listed in alphabetical order. There are black-and-white photographs. Everything in the book is touched upon briefly, but there are plenty of useful tips.

This is a really great book for anyone interested in fashion on any level. For each letter of the alphabet, this dictionary gives you about 3-4 different terms of fashion. It could be a word that describes how to wear something, or an accessory to go with an outfit. For example, B for brooch, binding of textiles, or C for cuffing, couture. I love this book, because I am becoming more and more interested in fashion and love to learn more from the most respected people and companies in the fashion world.
