Unique Simultaneously Monitor Multiple Channel Alerts (in Standby) with EOM Detection, Reecom R-500 Same Weather Alert Radio with AM/FM (Light Grey)

IF the radio worked as advertised it would be the perfect weather radio. Volume adjustable alarms and size factor make for a very good concept. However my radio is defective and support is useless in helping. My specific radio has a defect where if I get more than 3 alerts in an undetermined period of time, one alert never goes away and shows an “effective time” (time until the alert disappears from the radio) with unrecognizable characters. Since the characters are unrecognizable and not numbers representing a typical “countdown timer”, the alert never goes away. When approaching customer service with this defect, their response was “We have no idea why it happened as in the screen shot” but to send it in and they will fix “if I am uncomfortable with it”. REMINDER at this point it costs you $8.00 to send in the radio even/only if within the underwhelming 1 year warranty. I paid the 8 bucks and sent it in and they did nothing. They did not replace the radio and when I asked what did they do their response was evasive. “Every thing replaced”. So they lied. The following year, as soon as tornado season restarts, so does the exact same defect. They did nothing to repair the problem.My advise would be to steer clear with this radio and go with any of the competitors - their product and support can’t be half as bad and this garbage. I actually own both a Midland and a Sangean radio for my basement and RV (which both have their own specific pros/cons) but have never had any defects.

This is a weather radio with alerts that is very underrated & is worthy of checking into. The unit has many features including the ability of monitoring multiple channels simultaneously. It has external antenna jack, external speaker and external alarm jacks. It may be small in size but don't be fooled. Take a chance on this weather radio. It will amaze you....
