I bought this type of pull-up bar to use while staying at a hotel that didn't have any door trim in the room, so a normal temporary pull-up bar wouldn't work. This one is actually more stable than the type that requires door trim, and will be my primary pull up bar once I get back home. I've even used resistance bands with it, pulling downward at somewhat of an angle. I'm not sure if I would use resistance bands at a straight horizontal angle, but it's plenty sturdy for downward pulling motions.It doesn't lose its grip even when left installed for weeks on end. It's very quick and simple - less than a minute - to take down or put up if needed. Highly recommended.

It would always fall down and when my brother who weighs 160 tried it. The bar held his weight for only a few minutes before it fell down.

. . . my only concern is that when tightening this I hear a tell sound of metal on metal from inside the unit's tubing. I'm yet to figure out a way to get inside there and lubricate it. But it's function so far is great. I do a lot of exercises with it with full confidence in it's sturdy grip and I'm ordering a second one so I can use the two bars in a doorway at the same time to perform Roman chair squats.

This is a great product!!!! It has helped me so much with my pull ups and grip strength. Safe, never budges and hasn't damaged my walls at all.

This pull up bar always slips. If it is not slipping​ then it is destroying your wall or wasting incredible amounts of your time. The silicon on the sides does not work at all. It even slipped once and my knee hit the hard wood floor causing two days of not being able to walk properly. This is my first review ever and it is granted as this is the worst product I have ever bought please for your own sake do not buy it.

I was really excited about this bar because all the doorways in my 100 year old house are too wide and tall for a normal over the frame pull up bar. The instillation was great, however, this is why I give it 2 stars: this bar WILL crack the molding on any wooden door frame you try. I did on 3 different doorways in my home, all 3 were different (due to my house being old and being added on to over the years). Every single one of them are now cracked and one I am going to have to repair. Simply put, so not buy this if you plan on using it on a wooden frame door. This bar is probably great on a metal frame door way. The instructions for instillation say to turn the bar in the door way until the bar will not tighten any more. Logic will tell you, a metal poll exerting the amount of pressure that it is against a wooden frame will certainly crack it.I am not saying the product doesn’t work as advertised, it does, just not for a wooden frame, which is probably 95 recent of home owners.

The installation instructions are inadequate and the product does slip a little. Try another version, in my humble opinion.
