Surprisingly a decent quality, grabs well, extension is nice
My mom has issues with being able to grab laundry from the washing machine as her arms are too short to reach the bottom. This really helps her get to that. The first thing I will say is that this grabber is very sturdy. The shaft material is solid and even fully extender it does not bend or break easily. There is a stopper inside so you will not pull the device into two parts. There is also a lock that is pretty strong so it keeps you from collapsing the grabber. The locking mechanism is a simple twist and lock. The device can extend quite far but one thing I will say is that it does get a little weaker when you extend it but not by much. It is still pretty sturdy. The metal does scratch between each other overtime which is a bit annoying. The metal on the outside also is easy to get scratched up. It does not hinder the device though. The handle and grip as pretty sturdy and it does not take too much effort to close the claw which is nice. You just simply squeeze and the claw grip locks. The claw does have a bit of grip on the tip to make it easier to grab and hold things. There is no locking mechanism on the claw so you have to hold it to keep it clamped in place. The wire inside looks to be metal so you do not have to worry about the rope snapping inside. Overall this is a good clamp to have. It comes in two and both are pretty decent quality. The grip is nice and the trigger is very easy to use. It does not require too much pressure so if you happen to have arthritis like my mom it can still be used. The fact it is made of metal is nice. It is sturdy and hard to break. The only thing I can see breaking is the metal piece that holds the wire.

Extending works well, not super durable.
I use these to pick up trash, mostly on playgrounds. I find that's a nice way to have half an eye on my kids (more than folks on cell phones) without helicoptering. So I use it at least several times a week, and it's decently rugged use.One of the pair broke the first day I used it, while picking up a normal if mostly full beer bottle. The other has lasted months now. It's not my favorite handle style (I like the grip oriented along the axis, rather than perpendicular like this one), but the collapse and extend feature works really well, and it's super nice for adjusting to exactly my height and reach, and super handy for when I need to reach into a bush or big puddle or something. It also just exactly fits into the cargo compartment of my Burley Honeybee trailer when fully collapsed. It feels flimsy somehow, but this second one has withstood the regular bumping and jostling of the bike too

Well-Designed, Good Price
I've only had this item for a short time (days, not weeks) so it's difficult to predict how satisfactory it will be over time. That said, I appreciate the fact that It is designed to extend to an entirely customizable length for use by people of varying heights and or circumstances (chair-bound, for instance). The extension seems o work smoothly, but it would be helpful if a word of instruction explained how the center knob must be engaged to loosen and extend the tool, then tightened again to secure the appropriate length. I like that it doesn't collapse by folding (it's only about 2 feet long at its shortest, but can be extended to almost four feet). Folding seems as though it would stress the internal cable over time. I also like that the gripping jaws are wider than other tools, yet close completely when the gripper handle is squeezed. The handle itself might have been made a bit larger, but that might make it more awkward for users with smaller or weaker hands. I can't say yet how it might handle objects with any significant weight, like canned or bottled goods. No claims are made as to what it's weight-handling capacity is. For now, I'm satisfied that this was a good choice for me: two tools (one I can carry in my vehicle) at a reasonable price.

When a good teacher is to much.
Couple of years ago I fell down my split level home entryway stairs broke my neck. Lucky to be alive. The fall caused me to use a reacher grabber instead of bending clear over. I won at auction two reachers mad of aluminum one like 17” one like 30”. Very helpful. I’m 74 my wife is 4 years younger she has started using them. Just really handy. Every time I reached for my grabber Marsha had it. What we needed was more grabbers. So a bought 30” is good 44” is better right. WRONG. GRATED I’m handicapped from my fall but I got two 44”” long. If you are handicapped by a fall they will be to heavy. The handle too hard th pull. Stick with th small 30” and17”.

TERRIBLE
Don't waste your money! I bought 2 of these worthless grabbers. I bought them to pick up trash and papers on my parking lot. They will not completely close so you can not pick up any thing small. And if you want to grab anything big, they are a joke very weak. No tension. Wish I had my money back! Beware!

Nice grabbers
These seem sturdy and work nicely to pick things up. They’re definitely for an adult’s use. I was hoping to use them with my young children to pick up garbage while on our nature walks and sadly the toddlers’ hand strength is not quite powerful enough. The 8 year old is able to use them but not for an extended period of time. I’m keeping them and will still use them to pick up trash but will have to keep looking for something that the little ones can use.

Good length!
I purchased these for my grandmother, she has a couple already that are plastic and don’t extend so I wanted to try these out and they seem very sturdy! It definitely seems like it will hold up well, they extend pretty far so you can reach things pretty high up, it also has a little magnet on the side (I included a picture) it works but you have to have the object facing just right for it to work. I tried it with a magnet and the magnet side had to be facing up for it to pick up. Overall they are nice quality and I would recommend!!
