works on Honda oil pan
Tool works great once you get it started. I was trying to go the putty knife trick thinking I'd be able to break oil pan loose-nope should've saved myself 3 hours and a couple busted knuckles and ordered this tool. First of all the handle is supposed to be removable and there's a ball detent to hold it in place however its not a tight fit so most of time I had to hold it by hand to get it started. Also the shim part that looks like a blade isn't a blade but just a stout thin piece of metal that's held into place by 2 tiny (2.5mm) allen head screws. CHeck the tightness of the screws regularly to get the most out of your pounding. I used it on 2003 Honda CRV don't let the M-B BMW deter you. Local auto parts stores to don't have this tool either.

Works well if you do a slight modification
This item did the trick of separating my transmission pan from the tran body. The only issue was the little handle would not stay in place. The handle has a spring loaded ball to fit into a groove, but there is no groove. I fixed it by adding a thin metal shim and hammering the handle in. Just part of doing things yourself, too bad the people who design things apparently never actually use them themselves.

Lost OE tool
Purchase tools for OE on here all the time cheaper by far

Just what we needed
We could not get the oil pan off my 2017 Nissan Pathfinder and this did the trick! It was a very tight space and this saved us from needing to pull off other parts.

Junk, not worth it
Grind the cutting edge sharper, weld the handle in place and lock tite the screws in place and it'll kinda work some of the time

Seal cutter
Haven't used it yet but looks like it should work when I'm ready to start the project from hell

Not thin enough to break the seal
The leading edge was not thin enough to break the seal of the pan. Ended up using a flathead. I did use it to work sideways along the pan, but I would not have bought it just for that.
