Is the silicone handle the only difference between this pan and the "pro"? Is that why it can't handle the higher oven temp. of the "pro" pan?

my guess would be that the metal handle would take a higher oven temp. I have other frypans with metal handles that do, but my oxo pan is rated at 495 degrees and my oven only goes to 500 so I don't worry about it.

The stated dimensions are: 19.72 x 12.2 x 3.22 in So why does this respondent report that the pan is only about 1.5" deep? That's less than half as deep as the manufacturer states.

Do eggs sit in center of pan or slide to the sides?

Don't put the pan in the sink until it cools - sliding to the edges is usually a sign of warping, which is most often because of putting cooler water into a very hot pan.
