No Game, No Life Collector's Edition DVD/BD Boxed Set

Beautiful edition, great show and one creepy relationship!
The show was great and had me wishing it was longer or that there was a season two. The art style is pretty different from a lot of anime out there right now which is partially what attracted me to the show in the first place. What kept me was the storyline though and I very much look forward to No Game No Life: Zero (Whenever that comes out). I think the blu-ray version looks a little more washed out or dull in all honestly. I don't know if that was intended, but it's pretty hard to tell the difference between blu-ray and dvd in this show. The relationship between two of the main characters was a little creepy if you ask me though. The collectors edition includes some art card, playing cards, stickers and poster(s). All in all I

Colourful, funny and thoroughly entertaining
Sora and Shiro are a pair of genius NEET siblings who, individually, are utterly incapable of operating in regular society. Together however they are Blank, legendary gamers who are absolutely unbeatable. After defeating a mysterious challenger however, the pair are transported to Disboard, a fantasy world where everything from banditry to politics is decided by games. Finding this new world to their liking, Shiro and Sora set out to conquer Disboard and defeat the God of Games Tet.'No Game, No Life' is a very entertaining series with an interesting setting, cool characters and a lot of humour throughout. The plot of the series is generally good and revolves around a series of games ranging from the mundane (such as Rock-Paper-Scissors and Poker) to the more fantastical (Charisma Chess and reality warping Word Chain games). The series is based on an ongoing series of Light Novels so you shouldn’t expect any ultimate resolution by the end of the twelve episode series but the anime does leave things in a good place with most of the immediate plot threads tied up while still leaving things open for a continuation. The series also includes a number of references to various anime and games such as 'Ace Attorney', 'Civilisation', 'JoJo's Bizarre Adventure' and 'Neon Genesis Evangelion' to name a few.The animation for the series is very good, being incredibly colourful and with some brilliant scenes here and there. A particular highlight was the confrontation in the final two episodes which had some very well-choreographed action and the effects used for the Blood Destruction ability were also very good. There is quite a bit of fanservice in places that some people may dislike however. The DVD includes both the original Japanese version of the series as well as the English dub with the Japanese being the default setting. The English dub is relatively good with none of the voices feeling out of place and everyone giving good performances. Of particular note are Kira Vincent-Davis as Ambassador Izuna Hatsuse, Shannon Emerick as Tet and Sara Ornelas as Stephanie Dora. Scott Gibbs and Caitlynn French also give very good performances as Sora and Shiro respectively. There is some minor profanity in the English dub though which some people may find inappropriate. The only real problem with the English dub comes in episode 6 where some awkward verbal gymnastics is required to fit things into the reality warping word chain game that is played but this is a relatively minor complaint. This two disc DVD set includes all twelve episodes of the brilliantly entertaining series. The special features for the DVD set are a number of special features including Japanese commentaries, commercials and TV Spots, the usual clean versions of the opening and ending animations and some trailers. The set also includes the six episode series of 'No Game, No Life Shorts' which have been fully dubbed.'No Game, No Life' was one of my favourite anime of 2014 so I have been very much looking forward to its release. Overall this probably won’t be a series for everyone but personally I would give it a solid five stars.

An okay series
A clever series which centers around a brother and sister who are 'expert' gamers. Able to play and be successful in any game the two are dragged into another world by 'The god of games'. In this new world ALL things are decided by a game and so the two siblings begin to change their new world one game at a time. Some of the results are hilarious. Not the best anime series but it holds your interest just long enough.

Damaged dvd case
Love the anime, but when shipping the item to me they had crammed too many things in a box too small for the items, so the dvd casing was squished and broken at the top because of it.
