Why spend more than £5 on a toilet plunger? Because it's absolutely worth the money. This works far better than the widely available inexpensive 'red-headed' plungers. It's an effective tool, solidly made. We've been through our share of 'red-headed plungers'. Never again. This one is far better designed and made, and has never turned inside out. Whatever plunger you use, remember to PULL, not push to clear the toilet blockage. Press the plunger down firmly against the drain hole of the toilet bowl, then pull UP smartly to release the solid matter blocking the drain. All toilets differ. But with this plunger we've never needed to do this more than twice at most to clear a blockage, because the plunger end fits over the toilet drain so much better then the 'red-headed' models and similar. It's fast, it's effective, and that's what you want when the water in the bowl is going up instead of down. When its work is done, pour bleach or toilet-bowl cleaner into the bowl to make a quick cleaning solution. Leave the plunger sitting in that for a few minutes. Then swish it around well, flush that away, then rinse the plunger in the clean water that returns to the bowl. Afterward, remember to lean the plunger to one side to dry, with the top of the handle resting against the wall and the bowl end tipped up. If you leave the working end sitting flat on the floor, air can't circulate underneath to dry it, and it won't be fun cleaning out the resulting mold and mildew. Make life easy: care for your clever plunger as above and it will stay fresh and ready to use whenever the inevitable toilet emergency arises (pun intended).

Bought 2 of these a while ago to see how we got on as some are just flimsy junk and we've already broken several. Not these ones. The plunger bit itself is nice thick rubber so won't be splitting or falling apart any time soon and the handle is fine too. Ordered 4 more to put into holiday cottages. Oh, and it works. Probably an important point.

Knocked off a star due to the price. Why would anyone need 2. Says the single one might be available in 2 weeks - for an emergency such as a blocked toilet, one cannot wait 2 weeks. The plunger is excellent, no need to look elsewhere. I had severe toilet blockage and bought those plungers you pump and then shoot out air - the issue I find with such is that one shot of air is not enough to unblock the type of blockage I had. It required repeated plunging action, hence I opted for a manual one. I was initially going for a disk plunger type, but could not find a rod for it, both in and outside Amazon (Amazon was selling a set of 12, I'm no plumber, I only require 1. Outside Amazon, delivery was to be after the Easter celebration - I could not wait that long. I chose this plunger as it has various rims that would fit any toilet opening to form a good seal; on receiving it, the rubber had the right amount of flexibility. In one round of about 5x plunging, my toilet unblocked. Relief! I would encourage watching videos on the right way to plunge. The price is atrocious, hence 4 stars

After trying a number of different options, plungers and pistols with compressed air I found this. Keeps unblocking the toiler with a single attempt every time. After paying a plumber company 110 pounds 6 months ago for an emergency, using this is so easy without an effort. Success every time you use it. Just keep it down, covering the toilet bowl, flush the water and when water comes up at the highest level pull a couple of times up and then remove it. If the water is still up coming down slowly, put it back to the bowl and pull a couple of times a bit harder. That's about it really.

This is a fantastic product for unblocking a toilet. Forget the price - yes it's taking the p**s (no pun intended) - this is the flange plunger you need to buy. It's heavy duty rubber and forms a perfect seal over the toilet drain hole. The handle is long enough not to get splashed. What you do is flush and as the water rises in the bowl, start plunging. For toilet bowls already full, plunge without flushing. I plunged half a dozen times really hard. Then I emptied a bucket of warm water down. Plunged again, then flushed. Blockage cleared. You all know why the toilet was blocked. Wet wipes, tissues, too much loo paper. Just go easy on what you put down the loo in future ! This totally works

My toilet was totally and frankly revoltingly blocked. I tried buckets of water, bendy metal pipes, chemical unblockers, dalek style plungers..... Nothing worked. We were desperate and this plunger was my last throw of the dice. It took a good few pumps to do it's thing, but it worked! It's now my new best friend. It's a good long handle so you don't need to have you hand in the mess.... and the rubber end is like a concertina that fits into the hole and creates a vacuum. I wouldn't bother with traditional plungers, use this. It worked when all else failed.

Best plunger I have found to clear a blocked loo.

This product is expensive and has a long delivery time. I bought it based on a Amazon review by another person and whilst it looks the part, it is no better than many cheaper versions on the market. An average score is the best this product deserves.

Love it and came just in time. Was looking for a good quality plunger after my last one disintegrated. Definitely worth the price!
