Perfect for use with a Wii!
Pros:Works flawlessly for storing data. 500 gigs is a nice size for the price. No extra power adapter (given your USB port can provide enough)Looks really nice and simpleCons:USB 2.0 is slow in comparison to more modern USB 3.0+ drives. Do not expect data transfers to be fast. Depending on your use case, this might not matter to you. It doesn't for me.Some USB ports don't provide enough juice, so you'll need to add a USB power brick to the second connector dangling off of the end of it.I set my Wii up so I could dump my game collection to a hard drive using USBLoader GX. Now I can put my games in storage where the kids can't scratch them, and enjoy any game I want without getting off the couch! The Wii only has USB2.0 ports, so the speed of the drive is not an issue. The USB port on the Wii has enough juice to spin this drive just fine, so no extra power adapter.

Fast, simple, basic USB 2.0 drive
I picked this drive primarily because it still uses the proven mini USB connector that has been in use for 15+ years or so now. I read a number of reviews of the USB 3 drives and saw enough complaints of broken connectors to want to avoid them. The miniature version of the USB 3 connector does look flimsy and unreliable to me. I am using this drive for backup and restore. The read speed is good enough for me at 30-35 MB/s. I also liked that the drive did not come with extra software, features, cloud services, etc. I just wanted a drive I could backup my files to. Of course, any drive by any manufacturer could suddenly die without warning, so always make multiple backups on different drives of your most important files ;-)

Nice drive, troubled cable
The drives works great. The cable that came with it, however, is intermittently faulty. I had another cable that I could swap with it so that I could’ve get it to run consistently. I was able to reformat the floriferous to NTFS so that I can use it as a storage device on my Raspberry Pi cluster - nice bonus!

Great USB 2.0 functionality
These drives are the absolute best way to go for WiiU homebrewing. If you know what that is then you'll understand what I mean. The capacity as of date has facilitated 117 ISOs with over half the drive space remaining. 10/10 and 5 stars. Seller shipped very quickly and packaging was far above average. I purchased a 250GB USB 2.0 drive as well. Will purchase one more as these are becoming very rare.

Enclosure connection board doesn't work
I plug the drive into my laptop and in wasn't recognized. So I tried a different cable and that didn't work. Than I tried a different computer, no luck.I opened the enclosure and took out the hdd. I used my sata to usb cable and the drive was instantly recognized.I'm keeping the hdd because it works, but really disappointed the enclosure didn't work.

Great Value
Considering 500GB Sata is an extra hundred on a new laptop THIS DRIVE is INCREDIBLE value! It fits in your pocket. Backed up my whole laptop.

THIS IS THE PERFECT EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE FOR WII!!!
I've been looking around a lot for a good usb drive/external hard drive for wii and this was the first one out of many that worked. The speed on the wii is instantaneous and still a good transfer speed for even pc. I heavily recommend this product if you are in a pinch of finding a good external hard drive for wii. Or heck, even for just a bit more storage on your laptop/desktop.

Did what I wanted
I wanted to make a system image of my windows 7. W7 won't accept a flash drive and won't accept usb 3. Alert: If you want/need a usb 2.0 hard drive get it now, they are phased out and backwards compatible ain't necessarily so.
