EXCELLENT!!
I bought this stuff in place of a moustache wax which is VERY expensive. It does the job quite well and I am very pleased with the results! Being of a multiracial stock (Black, Irish, and American Indian) with Negro hair type, I was well aware of Murray's products, having used the regular pomade ONCE in the past when I had a long Afro. Black Murray's Beeswax is not as thick as the regular Murray's that I once swore never to use again on my head. Murray's is NOT formulated for long hair, Afro's or otherwise! Especially straight Caucasian hair types! USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! My first experience with Murray's pomade was a bad one. The pomade in the orange can is really a soft wax and when I massaged it through my Afro which was difficult to do from the start, it matted my hair down and was VERY difficult spread, and to remove even after 3 or 4 'Dawn' degreasing's! Wax does NOT wash out very easily! Murray's is really best for short, straightened Negro hair which is almost impossible to hold down if its been "fried, dyed, and laid to the side." Laughing, and grinning as I applied my new black Murray's Beeswax to my newly grown grayish handlebar moustache (delighted with the results), I decided to try it on my prematurely gray head. Having lost the Afro long ago, and now sporting a tennis ball fuzz cut I applied a few dabs at a time to my temples, and was shocked! This stuff is fantastic for blending away the gray! I applied another large gob just enough to evenly cover my scalp, rubbed it between my hands to melt it, and massaged it through, and guess what? I look 20 years younger!! OK, now for the bad part. Its not quite as pleasant smelling as the regular Murray's. It has a strong waxy scent, similar to axle grease, or very hot wax. It could be mixed with a more fragrant hair grease to cut the scent, but the waxy smell fades, and having auto mechanic experience, its not very hard for me to get used to the scent on my upper lip. I'd probably wipe it off if I need to kiss. In conclusion, it is a great product for what I use it for and I will buy more!

Murray's Black is Awesome
Personally I liked it and the so called smell was very minimum to me. I’ve tried the original Murray's in the past so I knew that this version was going to be a very strong product, but it was also pliable to my hair (Mexican American Black Hair). A little does do quite the job and depending on what style you are going for (Michael Corleone in my case) this will do the job. Be sure to have your hair damp like out of the shower dry and your hands bone dry. Do the Mr. Miyagi one time hand clap and rub in your hands until it is spread thin in your hands and apply front to back with steady downward pressure styling as necessary. Also have a small dark wash cloth rung out wet to help remove any pomade from your hands washing them afterwards. I sometimes use that same rung out wet cloth on my scalp front to back when it begins to dry to its natural pomade state to style or restyle in the moment. The finished style for me (Mexican American Black Hair) was: in between a matte and shiny finish that looks amazing. It was a minimum sticky for me when done and easy to restyle when I just felt like it. If you don’t have black or dark brown hair this product is probably not for you. This product held all day even in the hot Texas summer we just went through and even as I sweated it never moved. As for washing out it depends on your shampoo it may take more than one washing, but well worth the use.

great hold all day! but smells like crayons
I've always had naturally "wavy" hair, I fantasize about the day that I wake up and my hair will magically be straight, in anticipation of that day I've used practically every other mens pomade, here are my thoughts on this product. (Murray's Black Australian Beeswax)like many of you, I'm in my late 20's and I work in a professional office environment so my hair always has to be ON POINT, AND still express my personal style somewhat (think 1960's madmen meets 2015 Fashion Week) Weather you need your hair to look nice for work or just for the ladies I would recommend Murray's (traditional or black) over Layrite, Imperial or Suavacito and here's why.PROS:- Holds all day long with about a dime to a quarter size amount (depending on your hair length)- Even after you swim or shower (if you don't wash your hair) when you dry your hair you can comb it back into place and it will hold for the rest of the day.-You can sleep with it in your hair, wake up and comb your hair for a little more "worn in" loose look, still holds pretty decent at this point (but bewared! Murray's has a thick oil base, sometimes it will get on your pillow and you'll need to wash the case, some people who really don't want to wash their hair and are diehard will even sleep with shower caps to avoid this, not my personal choice but to each their own)- Cheap! Honestly, you can find this at Walmart, CVS, or a grocery store for the same price or cheaper and won't have to wait for shipping.-Easy to "mold" and doesn't move-You don't need an additional topical like hairspray to keep it in place.CONS:- VERY Greasy and tough to get out, I usually have to wash my hair twice or leave in my shampoo for extra long to get it all out.- Tough to wash off hands after applying, you have to spend about 1-2 minutes of serious hand scrubbing between the fingers to get this stuff off- A little TOO shiny despite its claims to be a "medium shine", personally I prefer a matte finish but to each their own!- The Smell: It smells like crayons which is why a lot of people will use some type of topical treatment. If smell is a big deal to you, try Suavacito (it's a serious lady killer!) You can also try the regular murray's which has no scent at all to it.#1 choice: MURRAY'S BLACK BEESWAX (holds all day even after a shower but has a crayon smell)#2 choice: Suavacito (it smells amazing and holds great but doesn't hold all day)#3 choice: Layrite: Only holds your hair in place if you use a hairspray topical (which makes your hair look crispy so I don't recommend)#4 choice: IMPERIAL: Waterbased which is a positive however has very little hold if you have wavy or curly hair.

I tried it it goes on easy it does what it claims. It’s a very good buy for what you get, but I paid for unscented but received one that is scented, for me it causes instant headache. Can’t use it.

Yes!
Just what I needed my hair for some reason gets those fly aways and won't stay down no matter how much gel I use. THIS stuff helps so much this and a scarf helps keep my hair slicked down how I want it!
