Merchant Gourmet Porcini Mushrooms, 50 gms

I have used all of these mushrooms now. I have used them mainly in adding to fresh mushrooms to intensify flavour. They are excellent for that and super low cost. The best thing about these mushrooms is that they are clean.I have had so many dried mushrooms which come with their own addition of grit or dirt that wasn't cleaned at time of harvesting. But these are super clean. A sign of how good they are is that you cant distinguish between these and the regular mushrooms when you're eating them. They soften up lovely.The recipe here I made a chicken with mushroom and white wine sauce. I strained all of the mushrooms away as I was demonstrating what the flavour of a mushroom is like to someone who won't eat mushrooms due to their texture. Fair enough. But she loved the sauce. 5* from me. Hope you like the review and the picture. The dish was beaut.

I read reviews after buying these for a risotto and i was horrified i thought what have i bought ? BUT , after soaking and inspecting, they were absolutely fine , they smelled very earthy , and gave good flavour , husband was very impressed with my risotto. No gritty bits either so those bad reviews mustve been a bad batch . Id happily buy these again .

Great taste and good value, slightly gritty but that is quite common. Good item especially when lockdown makes shopping so difficult.

Fatherly instructions for your water and afterwords give them a good rents clean them one by one to read the mushrooms from from grit and you won’t regret it the taste was amazing. I highly recommend this product

I cook alot with dried mushrooms and these are the best value and quality available. Absolutely delighted with my purchase. In fact I bought 3 packs of these dried porcini mushrooms. Highly recommend the vendor.

Good flavour but slightly gritty texture

The trick with this product is to remove the mushrooms very carefully after soaking, then stir the liquid into a vortex, let it settle and very carefully pour most of the liquid into another container , leaving the dregs which contain all of the grit to be thrown away
