I'd heard that these domes were sturdy and thick, but I truly had no idea what that would look like. I've had dozens of the cheap domes over the years, and they work, but they flex out of shape and quickly break down. By way of contrast, though I haven't had these domes for long, I can tell that they will last a very long time. I would guess they're 2x-3x thicker than the standard cheapo domes and will support a tray of seedlings ON TOP of the dome (if you set them to rest on top for a minute). Never had a dome I could say that about before

Thank you, Amazon - you really can find EVERYthing here. The only ones I could find which were purchasable without the 10x20 bottoms (we had those). These are durable (with care), love the adjustable opening at the top for humidity control. Perfect for orchids, seed starting and propagation.

These saved my entire garden from a greenhouse rat that was eating everything that sprouted. I have "bootstrap" brand trays and seedling pots, these fit nicely and were tall enough to accommodate some growth. They also helped as a second layer of frost protection when it was too cloudy for the greenhouse to warm up between cold nights.

Whoa. These ARE heavy duty. I needed to raise up a flat of seedlings a few inches to get them closer to their light so put the flat on TOP of one of these humidity domes. Rock solid. Absolutely Amazing!!! 100% worth the cost.

The domes work, but their fit to the trays is little off. If you put the tray & dome outside the dome may blow off. Use tape or a rock to secure the dome to the tray.

I use the humidity domes more for seed germination. Instead of buying a Burpee self watering 72 cell every spring for $25. I took a couple seasons to build a heavier duty system. 1.) The humidity dome: the material is good grade. It does seem to be manipulatable, but returned to shape after laying flat. The frosted/opaque look is a nice touch. The two top channels are that. You could set light strips on top. 2.) Heavy duty air prune flat: Probably around the same price as the hood. This is the part where Burpee systems usually only last a season. I found some with the open bottom(s) to wick water up a capillary mat. 3.) Bootstrap heavy duty tray: I haven't had an issue using them as water resevoirs with heat pads. I usually don't start over 2 flats at a time. Got the two pack to rotate different uses.

These will hold up for years to come. Love them.
