Kids in the Syndrome Mix of ADHD, LD, Autism Spectrum, Tourette's, Anxiety, and More!: The one stop guide for parents, teachers, and other professionals

Author gets it!
Extremely relevant to our direct experiences, this book provides information on other diagnoses which have a 70% chance of co-occurrence with each other. (Meaning if your child was diagnosed with adhd (spd, asd, Tourette’s, etc) or even MISdiagnosed with one of the disorders in ‘The Mix’, they have a 70% chance of having 1orMore of the other diagnoses. They have a 90% chance of having 1orMore of what the author refers to as ‘shadow syndromes’ meaning they have the symptoms but are not severe enough to warrant a full formal diagnosis- that doesn’t mean they don’t have the disability, or that it isn’t causing problems, on the contrary the author emphasizes recognizing the symptoms which require intervention, rather than concentrating on any specific title (diagnoses). By focusing on the ‘big picture’ and providing REAL, PRACTICAL advice and solutions, which can be used IMMEDIATELY, this book helps you help your family, right now. There is a lot I already knew in here, but even that information written/said so straightforwardly was a refreshing validation of what we and other families truly experience every single day. There was also a LOT of new information, and some of the statistics included really made me stop to think about what a future with these diagnoses will look like, and how we can change that future for the better.Im also reading another book by the same author called Living Without Brakes (titled for ADHD-but like this book, Living Without Brakes covers multiple diagnoses in ‘The Mix). I believe both of these books should be required reading for every parent, teacher, social worker, therapist, and doctor involved with any child who has, or is suspected to have, ANY of the diagnoses included in The Syndrome Mix.

Life Changing
This book is amazing. It is so very educational as to the different ways syndromes can present. I had no idea that so many habits/tendencies could fall under one syndrome. It has really opened my eyes to the broadness of categories such as ADHD. This book has saved my son. He did not present at all as the stereo typical ADHD kid (but we found him in this book). After reading this we actually made a zoom appointment with Dr. Kutscher (the author) and my son is enjoying school for the first time in 5 years. Life changing!

Really good book for parents and teachers
Such a good book for parents and teachers of kids who may have extra challenges. Written with compassion and it's easy to read for the average person. Don't need a PhD or M.D. degree to understand it.I even wrote down a few quotes to remember.

Great book for understanding some of the most common diagnoses ...
Great book for understanding some of the most common diagnoses facing kids today and written in a language designed for teaching parents and professionals empathy toward their child, student or patient's point of view, standing in his or her shoes. Who knew that most kids with ADHD may not only struggle with inattention or behavioral issues, but low self esteem and insecurity at not being able to keep up with their peers. The book gives many practicals and encourages parents, teachers and professionals to advocate for their unique child or student and coaches through the frustrations too. A great go to reference for all caregivers and professionals.
