Good for Experienced Groups
This is definitely the weakest Catacombs expansion that I have seen. You get a bunch of cards with various positive and negative situations on them to add to your room decks. The players might stumble upon a beneficial place that allows them a bit of respite before drawing a replacement card from the deck. Or, they might be ambushed before leaving the previous room, setting monsters in the player area of the board and the PCs in the monster area.Overall, it is interesting. We don't use it a lot. It usually adds a little bit of time to the game, which may be good or bad, depending on your gaming group and the night in question. If you like Catacombs and have both Cavern of Soloth and Horde of Vermin already, it is worth getting. If you only own the base game and you're looking at this expansion because it is the cheapest, I'd advise you to go buy Cavern of Soloth instead, you'll get a lot more benefit out of that expansion for added variety.

Tiny expansion adds a little more variety
Catacombs: Dark Passageways is the smallest expansion for the fantastic board game Catacombs by Sands of Time Games. This expansion consists entirely of a small stack of Room cards which modify the way existing rooms in the Catacombs are played. These cards are meant to be shuffled into the deck of room cards for the base game and provide special modifiers to the existing rules when they come up in the sequence of play. They provide a few quite interesting twists on the gameplay when they come up. Overall, there isn't much too this expansion, but it also doesn't cost much. If you like Catacombs, there's no reason not to get this tiny expansion.
