Very easy to follow for newbies to Visual Basic
Very easy to follow for newbies to Visual Basic. I read this almost ten years ago. So it may be a little dated by now considering whatever current version of Visual Basic is available. I don't really do any programming at work anymore. It will definitely provide a good foundation for VB. I like that it gives examples on how to use specific commands. I just took the examples and changed them to fit my needs, eventually, I was able to move beyond the basics presented in this book to more complex commands. However, this book is a great place to start. I still have it for a reference and have no intensions of getting rid of it.

Lacking command appendix
As if learning any high level language from a book wasn't hard enough - This text seems devoid of any elements that would make it a usefull reference, i.e. no VB command appendix. Have a specific question with respect to VB code? Look elsewere. The organization is as clear as my TA's thick accent.

Great for beginners, seasoned programmers may not like it
Microsoft Visual Basic.NET: RELOADEDThis is an easy to follow book for people who have never used or written Visual Basic .Net programs. There are clear examples, definitions, and examples. As a more experienced programmer I felt it was a bit repetitive and I skipped ahead a couple of chapters. A first year programmer would benefit greatly from this book and the visual Graphic User Interface Visual Basic .Net provides. No complaints.

Good first book on VB.NET
This book has clear definitions, text, and examples. It is a good first programming book at the college freshman level. Experienced programmers are going to find it repetitive. I really like the fact that I have only caught one error in the book, which is remarkable for a programming text.

There are better books out there to learn VB.NET
This book is way too elementary. It is also hard to use it as a reference book as it's not organized very well. If you have any programming experience at all with programming, you should consider some other books. I've had good success with Wrox, O'Reilly, and Microsoft Press books. Programming C# from O'Reilly was good.
