Makes The Best Rice You've Ever Had
I was introduced to the Ohsawa pot many years ago in a vegetarian cooking class. The small pot is my second one. I use it for cooking rices in a pressure cooker, especially brown rices. Add the rice and water to the pot, put a couple inches of water in the pressure cooker, heat and bring it up to pressure for the desired time. Absolutely the most fragrant and flavorful rice I've ever had. The grains are fluffy and not cooked into a congealed mush in the bottom of the pot. The small pot will make generous portions of rice for four persons. Beautifully handcrafted pottery. One tip: the cotton rope handle is slow to dry so be sure to store the pot out in the open after washing the pot.

Great in pressure cooker
I had one of these back in the 90’s. I was so happy to find one again! I’ve used it mostly inside my pressure cooker to cook grains or beans. Then there is no scorching or overcooked food. I love it. The small one just barely fits in my pressure cooker (the lid being tall for it), but I have a very old pressure cooker from 1993.

Love It
At first I purchased the Medium size which didn't fit into my pressure cooker. I returned it but it cost $21.00 for shipping to return it (plus I paid $14.00 in shipping to get the pot) When I spoke to the representative at Gold Mine they were very helpful and Kind. I received the small size Pot, it fits and I absolutely love it so it was worth the extra shipping expense!

I am very happy with there commitment to there customers
I mistakenly ordered 2 pots when I needed 1 and being computer challenged, was unable to cancel the extra one. Upon hearing of this, Gold Mine Natural Food Co. reimbursed me the price of the extra pot. I am very happy with there commitment to there customers.

This pot is a MUST HAVE !
The Ohsawa Pot is a MUST HAVE ! We are a family of 4 and I cook grains, beans, and rice on a weekly basis using a pressure cooker.Using the Ohsawa pot, I find items are cooked to absolute perfection and require less liquid. Be sure and follow the manufacturer's recommendations for adding liquids. Some of this will be trial and error. Even the best cook will need to experiment first.Through trial and error I found I had better results by NOT using a trivet to set the pot on. In my experience, the Ohsawa Pot will dance around in the pressure cooker. The movement left a few marks behind. While the marks don't affect the preformance of the pressure cooker, I prefer they not be there at all. This is simply an FYI, I highly recommend the pot.The Ohsawa Pot is a work horse like my pressure cooker (a Khun Rikon) and cleans up well. I put mine in the dishwasher.Interesting to note, when blending different types of rice and/or grains with different cook times, they all cook to perfection without any one being over or under done.Aside from a more even cooking process, you never need to worry about grains/rice clogging the safety valve or worry about items that tend to foam too much.I definitely recommend this product.

Spectacularly good brown rice
I use an Ohsawa pot (in a pressure cooker) for cooking brown rice - generally brown basmati. The rice is spectacularly good, just as Lorna Sass promised in 'Great Vegetarian Cooking Under Pressure'. I will never cook brown rice any other way again! The pot is also simplicity itself to use, and cleans up very easily and quickly (and you don't have to wash the pressure cooker). My husband would never eat brown rice before tasting it cooked in the Ohsawa pot. Now he enjoys it. The pot is worth the money for this alone.I guess you can see that I love my Ohsawaa pot.Pat
